For those who went... what a night! For those who didn't, it's a short call, but hopefully the photo's can freeze frame what was at Gigglin Marlin! Awsome! A ram-packed dancefloor quite frankly running short of space! There was need for at least another 10-20m2 of room to move all those dancin' feet! (Even though the main room was pretty big!)
The trussing around the DJ booth was so neatly executed and lit up in the traditional Pinky colour coding. The DJ booth was well positioned with ample clear space around the DJ. This makes the whole feeling more focused on the DJ's (which is the point) and not hindered by a mob of people trying to get as close as they can! (Klubi also has that similar great system of seperating the DJ stage / Dancefloor).
I would like to add that the recently attended Laserpoint warm up nights by myself in HKI have supplied very good music... :) but unfortunately I felt that the decor and lighting was dissapointing (especially at the entrance price asked...). Just a hint (in a nice way) but perhaps a little look at the layout and effort put into the Choon/Pinky parties would help as a good benchmark.
Anyway... I wasn't about to catch Defa and Pete S's sets but I am sure they were trademark quality :) With Mike Shiver his mixing was faultless. Choice of tunes fantastic and some gems in the mix! It was clear he was having a ball of a time and the crowd showed every bit of appreciation.
Finally Jace continued in fine style and finished off what seems to have been Turku's most successful club night this year. It's been a while since i felt like I was back in a packed out UK club... and this felt that way! A shame about some apparently faulty lights (or something not working to plan) but it wasn't noticed (i think :). The rest seemed to deliver the goods!
Kiitos Rami / Pete and all the Pinky crew... You know who u are! Till next time....
