Wally Lopez is widely regarded as the top DJ in the resurgent Spanish house scene. He was born and currently lives in Madrid and started his musical career at the early age of 13 on a local radio station. Wally hosted the famous TOP RADIO sessions for 5 years, broadcasting his pioneering live DJ sessions without any interruptions by commercial adverts. Wally was also the host of a daily radio show on the well-known national coverage Spanish radio FLAIX FM. He is currently the host of a monthly show on France's National Radio FG and also broadcasts on Amsterdam's 538 Radio.
His productions and DJ sessions have been applauded by premier DJs such as Erick Morillo, Danny Tenaglia, Pete Tong, Francesco Farfa and Steve Lawler, who was quoted as saying "He is the Man of the Moment&". Wally won the award for the best house record of the year in 2001, with "Patricia never leaves the house" by Deejay magazine, and in 2002 he was nominated for "Track of Year" for his release "Disco Night" on Weekend Records and won the award for DJ of the Year. He was voted Best Newcomer at the 2002 Ibiza DJ Awards, an accolade that has been giving to DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo and Steve Lawler. In 2003, Wally won the award for Best House DJ as well as Best House Tune with Deejay magazine and he recently won the same categories in Spains DJ1 magazine.
2003 saw Wally join the team at the coolest label around, Underwater. A "Tribute to Acid House" was Wally's first release on Underwater Records and received rave reviews. Wally also owns and runs his own label called LA FACTORIA DISCOS, which has had success with the moody !I'm coming to London" and the Underworld-esque "My generation" and more recently Wally's rework of Santacana's "El Apostol" was Pete Tongs Essential New tune.
Wally is also a prolific re-mixer and has done remixes for labels such as Weekend records, Defected Records, Subliminal, Azuli, Yoshitoshi, EMI, Island Records, Bonus Tracks, Credence, Hipnotic Music, Fluential, City Rockers, Bugged Out and House Works to mention a few. His remix of David Guetta's 'A little more love' debuted in the UK top 20 and was on of the anthems of 2003. His recent remix of Dark Globes 'Break my World', is rapidly climbed up the charts. Wally has also remixed artists such as Enigma, Bini and Martini, Alex Cartana, Robbie Rivera, Dirty Vegas, Ananda Project and Spanish pop icons such as Monica Naranjo and Miguel Bosé.
This year La Factoria released it's first mixed compilation called "I'm coming to London". Wally has also recently mixed the Pacha Ibiza CD for Renaissance Recordings and will mix the famous Underwater Sessions after the summer
Wally Lopez is currently the resident DJ of the new 8000 capacity Madrid venue D'Zoo in Madrid as well as a bi-monthly resident in Discotheque, Barcelona. He is also a summer resident for the Underwater parties in Pacha Ibiza and at the End in London. His passion as a DJ is unfaltering and he regularly plays in destinations such as Pacha Buenos Aires, Crobar in New York and Miami, Pacha Budapest, Redlight in Paris, Zouk in KL and Sinagpore to mention a few of the famous clubs. He has always been loyal to the Spanish scene and regularly plays at top clubs in Spain, including famed venues such as La Terrazza, and Puzzle.
Wally Lopez' prolific rise and rise continues unabated. His productions are defining the underground, his trophy cabinet is bursting and he is rocking every dancefloor he encounters.
