COSMIC BOOGIE
(Disco Deviance, Liverpool, UK)
...It's time for the next Nerd Network night (Nr. XVII). Last time was a big success when Cosmo Vitelli and Ali Renault visited Nolla. This time we have Stu Robinson aka Cosmic Boogie from Liverpool to teach us some disco. Except for releasing amazing records on his own inprint and Disco Deviance he is also a huge supporter of Liverpool FC. Another funny trivia about Stu is that he has seriously thinking about moving to Finland without ever being here. So I hope we can show him some nice and warm Finnish hospitality in the freezing weather.
If I should describe Cosmic Boogie's sound you should go back to the roots of slow disco and afro from the seventies to capture the groove and move to the Chicago and New York house era to find the inspiration for his newer productions. However, its easier to judge by yourself:
