ZEBRA AND SNAKE: "The Colours" (MSFTS001)
Long time in the works, we're finally happy to introduce MISF*TSOUNDS, our record label focusing on upcoming and fresh artists and bands from Finland. First in the series is the debut 7" single "The Colours" by Zebra and Snake, a duo who just might be the hottest Finnish indie/electro export after Le Corps Mince de Françoise. Combining the dark synth tones of The Knife with the artsy touch of bands like Talking Heads and Joy Division, they surely have a unique sound of their own. The 7" is backed with our first own remix, co-produced with a super talented guy called Kutikula, see his Myspace for more details.
DINOSAURUXIA: "Safe" (MSFTS002)
As the second release on MISF*TSOUNDS, we're proud to present "Safe", the debut single of another exciting new band from Finland, Dinosauruxia. A duo of two girls, equal measures sweet and hauntingly mysterious, they give CocoRosie a run for their money. Yet, with influences ranging from Erik Satie to Saint Etienne and songs reminiscent of Bat For Lashes or even Björk, they do have a unique sound of their own. Their take on experimental pop consists of painstakingly crafted electronic beats, dark synth riffs and bold melodies sung with brooding intensity. Again, the single is backed with a MISF*TS remix co-produced with Kutikula. The single is out now digitally and as a 7".
