HELLO:

I'm extremely audio tech stupid, and have a question I hope someone can answer. I have an older model Sennheiser Mkh 415, very thin condensor Microphone. I know it requires phantom power, but when ever I connect it to a simple mixer board with phantom power it doesn't seem to work. And the music store I took it to insists that it is fully functional, but the rep can never show me how to make it work over a mixer board.

what can I do to make this thing work.

Well if the microphone and the mixer are both fully functional, I guess it must be one of the following simple reasons:

1. You haven't switched the phantom power on in your mixer
2. The cable between the mixer and the microphone is not working properly
3. You haven't switched the microphone on :winkwink:

At least I can't think of any other reasons.

You will need a specific T-power adapter that lowers the 48 volt phantom voltage to around 12 volts. Sennheiser has retailed the 12T-P48 adapter but I've got no idea where you could find one.

Build one by yourself?
