Fisherman Bruce Leenus started dj'ing at around 1988,inspired
by hip-hop and punkmusic they later had their first club Crossover (1991) in
a bassment in the Old Town of Stockholm.It was a mix of
hip-hop,rock,skatepunk,reggae,ska,electro.Later Leenus hooked up with some
guys called Kooljunk Society,having the clubs called Soft & F.U.C.K. Around
93 he dj'd a lot at a bar with lots of livebands called Barfota close to
Gröna Lund.Same year came the first resident night at Hanna's Källare called
Warriors mixing weird mondo-movies with music.Then through the 90's he
played at clubs like Rangus Tangus,Fastfood,Uptown Skankin',Tranan and
festivals like Hultsfred and Roskilde,and the tour called Kalas-turnen.He
also played in nightclubs & artprojects in
Gothenburg,Oslo,Helsinki,Copenhagen,Berlin,New York,Belfast,Reykjavik &
Istanbul.Ran the underground art club Bevil together with Katarina Löfström
around 99.Nowadays frequently dj'ing in Stockholm at Metro',Riche,Södra
Teatern,Tranan,Landet,Marie Laveau,Nada.Bruce Leenus is also a member of the
dirty-south inspired group called "Stockholm Inkasso" together with
Onda740,Tok-Matte J and Antabuz.They have just released their third cd
"Extra Vild & Ball!" on their label Gökbot,and played a lot live around
Stockholm.Bruce Leenus also runs the monthly underground hip-hop/streetarts
club "Steez" at Debaser together with Pau & Mandy.Inviting turntablists &
graffiti-artists to show their stuff one tuesday a month.If he would
describe what his style is,it would be "Dark
Electro,freestyle,booty-bass,dirty-south,rap-muzik,house & disko!"
