Progression [London, UK]
My connection with electronically produced music began in the late 80's. The emergence of Acid House and Rave music within the United Kingdom created a prolific underground dance scene. It was this scene that captured my attention! My early record collection was dominated by artists such as The Prodigy, Altern8, Carl Cox, Ratpack, BabyD to name just a few.
As the music scene grew, so did my collection and music tastes. Genres such as Happy Hardcore, Jungle, Drum n' Bass and early House began to fill my record box. With an extensive collection forming, I purchased a pair of mixing turntables in late 1993. This soon lead to the organisation of small parties and several events held in bars/clubs in neighbouring towns of London.
My big break in DJ'ing came in 1998 with the start of my studying at University in central London. For almost five years I ran my own club nights at the university's student union. By that time period my musical tastes has progressed to deeper House and Trance. The weekend parties soon became popular and typical audiences spanned between 800 and 1000 people. During my 5 year residency I played many styles alongside DJ's such as Grooverider, Jean-Jacques Smoothie and Tall Paul.
A move to Finland came in 2003 with my DJ career continuing in Helsinki. Parties at Labyrinth, System Bar U.G, Soda, Mother and M-Bar brought another change in my turntableism. I injected more old skool flavour into my sets to create a nostalgic trip down memory lane... The sound of Progression establishing as a blend of the old with the new...
Biga Rane [stealth unit]
Born in Rovaniemi, now living in Helsinki, Biga Rane started dj'ing at the infamous Flow-club during the spring of 1997. Depending on the party his styles will be from hip hop to the darker side of drum'n'bass. At Bass Heroes he has promised a load of '91-'93 oldskool breaks/techno but also some newest of the new jungle & drum'n'bass.

Jaywink [bass heroes, motion]
Jaywink found his interests in electronic music in the early 90's through the likes of The Orb, Prodigy and 808 State. He played his first club gig in Oulu around the year 2000 with a set consisting of club house. Soon through various phases and movements between styles he found broken beat & breakbeat, the sounds that brought him into electronic music in the first place.
At the end of 2002 he moved to Helsinki and joined the Children of Dub as their resident dj. Jay has also been promoting his own Smash! and Bass Heroes nights at various venues. Proudest moments include the Koneisto festival of 2003 and playing for crowds in the finest clubs of St. Petersburg on several occasions.
Depending on the mood of the venue Jay's sets will be anything from full-on bass heavy breaks, electro or more down tempo broken beats. One thing is for sure - there will be bass and there will be lots of it.
