DOS-NOUN (Philadelphia, USA)

Dos-Noun rose from humble origins to become one of hip-hop's most innovative lyricists and performers. He
was raised by wolves. But the wolves were alcoholics. So he raised them. That's how real it was. He stumbled
out of the forest at the age of 16 into what is now known as the Rawkus golden era. Listening to rappers such
as L-Swift, Mr. Metaphor, Kwest, and Monch, Dos-Noun vowed to become a top notch emcee and freestyler
and to never fall off. Six years later he has released two twelve inches and two albums. His battling prowess
has earned him honors at Scribble Jam and the Superbowl emcee competitions. His nihilistic stage antics
include destroying electronic equipment with a baseball bat and shaving his head into a mohawk in mid song.
This has given him a fan base with a loyalty whose intensity more established rappers both envy and fear.
His guerrila tour ethic has put him on planes overseas with no money and few phone numbers and certainly
no shows, then returned him with burgeoning fan bases everywhere he has gone. He continues to tour the
country and share the stage with the likes of Atmosphere, Sage Francis, Illogic, Subconcious, Edan,
Grand Buffett, Labtekone, J-Live, Busy Bee, Scratch, Dice Raw, Last Emperor, Beat Nuts, Non Phixion,
L Fudge, Mr. Complex, Mr. Lif, Cannibal Ox, Eyedea & Abilities, Mr. Dibbs, and Pumpkinhead.

Tässä suomi pätkä Dos-Nounin aivan mahtavasta matka päiväkirjasta, kannattaa lukea koko pätkä. Jäbällä ei oo ollut mikään ihan lepposa lomamatka :)

DOS-NOUN WORDS FROM THE ROAD

3/29/05, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

From Stockholm I flew to Helsinki, where I met my first Finn. His name was Jukka
(sorry Finns my American keyboard doesn't have any umlaaut command I can see).
Jukka was wearing a crazy hat, that looked like it was made from Waldo's sweater.
He is an IDM producer and communications student. He kept apologizing for being stoned.
Jukka was a super cool dude, who got me on the train to Tampere, Finland.

At the station I met Timo, the promoter of the evening. We soundchecked and the place really filled up.
By the time I went on the spot was packed. I ended up doing the best show of the tour there.
I really got these kids going something special. I also sold the majority of my vinyl and a lot of CD's.
DJ Resound came on after me and dropped that dark Jungle shit, taking me back to the Deadly Scribes,
evil raving days. I smoked a few hash joints with Timo and took a shot of Finland's national liquor,
a substance that could easily power spacecraft if utilized. Props to Jere P, the terror of Tampere's
bombing scene and also to Timo's crew, some of the realest and most intelligent cats I've ever had a chance to build with.
They really love music and life in a way that's refreshing. So after a pub lunch with Timo and the crew I departed for Helsinki and my last show.

Ville picked me up at the station and we went to do an interview. Ville is a hustler, DJ, promoter, radio station owner, and student.
He had a Nokia sidekick ish instrument that looked like it fell from the monolith. Finnish technology is dope.
My interviewer was Tomme, a Finnish music journalist who had excellent taste. It was cool to be interviewed by a cat who knew his music
and was obviously smart. As most of us rappers know in America its a different story altogether. The show in Helsinki was hot as well.
The venue was crazy, very hip, and the crowd responded nicely and purchased heavily.
I spent a while talking with Ville and his girl and was again struck by the intellect of these people.
Finland has the best education system in the world and it is apparrent when you talk with these
kids my age who are functionally trilingual, and in Mrs. Ville's case pentalingual.
