NAIMA on Uusi Future Jazz/Soul, Broken Beatz, Deep house ilta. Tarkoitus on esitellä joka kerta joku ulkolainen aritsti, joka on jostain syystä tapetilla tällä hetkellä. Musiikki tulee olemaan aika laidasta laitaan sen enempää kategorisoimatta mitään musa tyylejä pois, perus idea on kuitenkin selvä eli uutta soundia on tulossa eri genreistä ja varmasti old school house soundia myös kuullaan mm tämän kaverin setissä sillä miehellä on todella vahva detroit henkinen musa tausta. Eli välttämättä ei ole odotettavissa viilattua brassi henkistä housea vaan vähän ruffimpaa soundia ja todella tanakkaa Jedi knight tyylistä biitti menoa. Setti tulee uppoamaan house headeista hip hoppareihin ja kaikkiin head noddersit ja nose diggereihin siltä väliltä. Itse kuuntelin Leena Lehtisen ohjelmaa missä miehen miksaus vaikutti todella lupaavalta, '
Kadulla kuultua höpinää...
tyttö pojalle : lähetääks kuun eka keskiviikko Naimaan??
Poika tytölle : Mikäs siinä, mut eix vois yhtään aikaisemmin:(
tässä pieni kuvaus miehestä.
Mark's lengthy production career has seen him play with practically every sound and genre known to music. From his early Detroit influenced techno and ground breaking Seminal Evolution label to the Latin inspired beats of his Far Out production work, the running theme has been quality and diversity.
Mark is maybe best known for the Jedi Knights production outfit. Along with Tom Middleton, their productions have consisted of no-messing heavy beats and bass lines combined with an inimitable funkiness. Formerly the two had worked on the Global Communication project that took ambient music to another level, and introduced them to a whole new audience whilst winning massive critical acclaim: 'best ambient album of the decade' The Guardian.
After yet more successful twelve-inch releases, remix work has been in abundance. Reinterpretations for the likes of Lamb, Azymuth, Warp 69, Orb and A Tribe called Quest have all been given the Mark Pritchard treatment. Work in progress includes the Use of Weapons (Drum and Bass) for Droppin Science records, as well as Hip Hop projects and the continuation of the Troubleman work on Far Out Recordings.
Whatever the genre Mark's production and DJing has been characterised by his ability to give the music more room to get funky, and producing deeply emotional, and twisted sounds to make sure people always get their groove on.
