the cocoon club hype makes it to these here parts :D
I haven't been myself yet, though friends and associates have commented negatively about the door policy and general attitude of renting out the restaurant to business dinners under the week, plus various other claims of crass commercialisation.
the club opening was less-than-successful, with a lot of negative press reviews and the like, but then germans love to criticize.
parts of the club certainly seem to cater to an older (read: more affluent) crowd than the kind that typically goes to techno parties.
I can't fault väth for trying to realize a dream of a "perfect club" though, and if I'm in frankfurt some time I probably wouldn't pass up the chance to check the place out.
certainly väth isn't alone with this idea of combining various gastronomic sectors into some sort of cultural entertainment behemoth, there's similar things underfoot e.g. in berlin, though the name escapes me right now.
