I think someone has got depressed and killed him/herself because of low ratings =)
It's not good to see how good or bad people are :D

The sad thing with the rating is that if you are a very sensitive person, you might get really depressed by having low votes... but in the end it's only stupid people who have no better things to do, than to mock others who rate people low and throw crap around the board to people who say what they mean without giving a shit about weather someone likes the comment or not...

max amount of stars on the old board was 5. I bet your boyfriend had just one star and was too shamed to tell you :D
I don't miss the ratings. I always thought they were a bit childish ie "you're cool and you're not".
Sorry my misstake, I forgot how many maximum stars is was one could get, yes he had 5 :) I saw them :)
I can't speak for the admins, but I'd guess it has to do with the
ratings being very unreliable, in other words not always true.
Every other newbie had 5 stars (with one vote) from the first
beginning - I guess those with 5 had logged in with another name
so they could rate themselves.
Secondly, most people don't bother to rate each other unless the
writer has really done something spectacular or exceptionally
stupid. For example, I didn't get any votes in the last 3
months when it was possible...one would think someone would
have at least one opinion about my posts, be it good or bad, as
I've written 0,70 messages per day.

I'd go even further with that and say that the finnish club scene is full of smartarse's trying to convince everyone they are cool and the others aren't.

I miss the stars too. I had 64 ratings & 4 stars but I pretty recently started to work hard to decrease the amount by heavily criticizing other people & their posts.
