Thrillseekers
(Adjusted / UK)

For close to 10 years now, The Thrillseekers have been at the forefront of the world's dance scene. From his first single 'Synaesthesia', through to the club anthems 'Dreaming of You', ‘NewLife’ and 'By Your Side', Steve Helstrip has been behind some of the most emotive, evocative electronic music, ever released. He’s worked with pioneers like Trevor Horn, shared co-production credits with Chicane and co-wrote on Ferry Corsten’s Grammy award winning ‘Right of Way’ album. He’s remixed Tiesto and Armin, amongst many others, and reworked Sonique’s ‘Feels So Good’ into a worldwide, No. 1 record.

Steve is now as well known as a DJ as he is a producer; having quickly risen through the ranks, captivating crowds the world over with his tough, cutting-edge sets. The Ministry, Gallery, PaSSion and Gatecrasher have all born witness to his fluid mixing, unique style and kinetic, energetic performances. His spinning career took off with such speed, in fact, that just 12 months after he first put needle to vinyl, he found himself invited to play at Paul van Dyk’s Birthday party! 2004 saw The Thrillseekers crack the DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ's chart for the first time, before going on to break into the top 50 (landing at no. 45) in 2006.

The Thrillseekers story started back in 1999, where, with a relatively basic home studio Steve constructed the trance milestone that is ‘Synaesthesia’. Signed and released by Neo Records in 1999, at the height of the trance explosion, it has gone on to sell over 1,000,000 copies, across its numerous, repeated worldwide releases.

Following the collapse of Neo Records in 2003, Steve took charge of his catalogue by launching his own label Adjusted Music. With demand high for the re-releases of 'Synaesthesia' and ‘Affinity’ (which was originally came out under his Hydra moniker), both tracks were brought back out in 2004, to a huge response. As well as releasing his own records, Steve’s also sought out fresh talent for Adjusted. He signed the club hits ‘Safe to Dream’ by Russian act Evolve and ‘Alone Again’ by transatlantic duo Deep Voices. His remix of the former showcased a new housier sound, one which was fully realised with his ‘By Your Side’ release. The track was championed by Paul van Dyk and Pete Tong, being marked up, quite simply, as “Brilliant” by the latter, after he played it on Radio 1.

Artist collaborations have played an important part in Steve’s production career. Immediately following the success of ‘Synaesthesia’ Steve went on to launch a new moniker for M.O.S. subsidiary, Incentive. En-Motion was born with ‘Truth’ in 2000 and ‘Getting Away with It’ following in 2002. In the adjoining years he also pushed forward, partnering collaborations with Andy ‘Pulser’ Perring as Insigma (‘Insigma’/’Open Our Eyes’/’Avalon’) and with ATCR owner Tim Stark under the name Rapid Eye ('Never Going Back'/"Circa-Forever"/"Stealing Beauty"/'Santa Cruz'/'Absolut').

In late 2005 The Thrillseekers moved into compilation territory, with the release of ‘Night Music Vol 1’. The CD and 30 date world tour that followed it was an instant smash, mushrooming the fanbase further and generating State-side and Russian releases of the comp. Summer 2007 will sees the much-anticipated follow up hit the stores, again encompassed by a world tour.

Although having released several more melodious tracks, Tempo Giusto is best known for his dark, hypnotic progressive and tech bangers. His debut EP “Agent Orange / Calling” gained support from DJs and artists around the world such as Tiesto, Sean Tyas and Ferry Corsten. “Agent Orange” was also voted as the 5th best track of the month in Corsten’s Countdown in April 2008 and Tempo Giusto was awarded the 2nd spot a few months later with a more melodic trancer, “One Among Others”. As a DJ, Tempo Giusto’s motto for a successful club night is to concentrate on varying driving progressive and deeper, melodic trancers with techy beats. In other words, he stays true to his trademark. Besides doing live shows in Finland, Sweden and United Kingdom, and featuring in numerous guest mixes, Tempo Giusto also hosts two monthly radio shows as himself and with Synthika on the growing AfterHours.FM. His own 2-hour set, Global Sound Drift, is a thrilling experience for a clubber anticipating a mix filled with continuous energy, smashing bangers and symphonic trancers. Tempo Giusto’s radio shows result in hundreds of replies and his mixing style and ear for fresh tracks are critically acclaimed. It is no wonder that after hearing Tempo Giusto’s club shaker “Blow”, fellow producer Marcus Schossow commented that “Tempo Giusto is on his way to something great.”

MarkusS
(NorthernPalz, l i Q u i d)

This man is a House Lover from start to end. He grew up listening lots of music (disco and black music mostly), because his father used to travel alot and always bought music home from his trips. One day some of those cassettes and vinyls had music from artists such Coldcut, KLF, Innercity and Marshall Jefferson to name few. Markus was captured with that kind of music in a second. He was a 12 year old and his passion for music started growing. Housemusic was the thing that really captured this little fellow's attention though he might not have known what it was called back then.

After that, all kinds from deep and funky to speedgarage was popping into his record collection. 1993 at the age 14 he started playing records at the local youth disco and later on that year his best friend bought a pair of decks. Next 2 years went on practising dj skills everynight and at the same time Markus and his mates were arraging illegal partys in their home town! As a result of those partys he got first real gig in a club. This was at age of seventeen! Year 1998 he got slot to play in afterparty in a club called Pussy Club (Helsinki) and that's where it all really started.

During that time he was using the name Dj Maas and his sound and style was little bit faster and on the harder edge. Dj:ing took him to many different citys and to many different clubs, partys and raves in his home country. He was also co-promoting and had a residency in a club called Hooverdamn! A club which had a tribute track made by British jock called Chris C from Mohawk Rec. However, somewhere during 2001 that sound wasn't evolving in the way that Markus wanted . A new and intresting sound was called wet'n'hard which was made famous at that time by artist such Timo Maas, Corvin Dalek, Oliver Klein to name drop a few. It was a mix of progressive-, tech- and deephouse. Also his name changed to Markus S. During the same year, his residency at Dive started and that lasted till year 2003 when club was closed.

During those years Markus met Joonas Hahmo who ended up to make a theme song for Dive. At this time Markus was heading musically back to the funkier form of house, which he had always carried in his heart. He started playing at Cafe Europa's Club Attic, monthly every wednesday and then later on every third friday. When it comes to making music, Markus had made some tracks just for own fun before and had done bootlegs to be used for own dj sets. It was early winter 2004 when Markus and Joonas ended up working in the studio together. Little bit later Northern Palz was born. Under that name they have made some banging remixes and also produced two tracks for one of the leading artist in Finland. Currently Markus is playing around 6-8 gigs in a month and spendig time in the studio to come up with gems to be reveald to the world. As a dj he is waiting for a chance to open his recordbag for the people on the dancefloor everywhere!

ritchey.png
Ritchey Heraldic
(Tremble Collective)

Ritchey Heraldic is a talended young dj, who fascinates his audience with a perfect blend of deep, groovy and smooth house music and keeps them mesmerized from the beginning of the night until the rays of the rising sun are cast over the glistering morning dew, making a field of grass look like an ocean of pearls.
In his hometown, he has made terrific performances behind the wheels of steel (turntables) in many events alongside some of the well-known finnish DJs, venues ranging from aristocratic lounges of downtown to the most underground intimate peripherial chambers where the doors are only open for a limited number of specially selected guests. In addition to this, he has also shown his skills in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, as well as many other places in Finland.
Being also a skillful producer, he has also produced over 100 great tracks, most of them being exclusive titles strictly for his own usage only. Considering the short time Ritchey has been involved in the music business and the local scene, he is certainly one of the most promising rising megastars of the future.

Oh bollocks. Not quite the truth.

Now when all the "compulsory" pompous hype is done, it's time to reveal some real-life facts to those of you who are actually reading this far. No more bragging, no more exaggeration, no more writing in the third person. It's me talking now.

As you probably have realized by now, Ritchey Heraldic is not my real name, but a stage name I'm using on my gigs. I'm not famous, I'm not a megastar, and I'm not a super-talented producer. I'm just an average humble guy who loves music, I live in a flat in a suburb and make my living by writing software for mobile phones (call me nerd if you want!). I really don't give a s**t about fame, touring around the world or seeing my name on DjMag Top 100. What I want is to play the music I enjoy the most and share it with other people... show feelings... tell a story... make people fall in love with the music. A friend of mine once said "Everybody likes House music. Some people just don't know it yet.". I believe he's right.

There is actually a grain of truth in the first part of this "biography", hidden behind all those insignificant praising words. I have had gigs, here in my hometown Tampere and places around, even in Helsinki "showing my skills" (or lack of them... poteito, potaato), produced my own music, and who knows what happens in the future. I haven't made any money by playing records or producing music. Instead, I have made something much more valuable: friends. For me, music (deejaying, producing, collecting records) is a hobby
and there are no such things as career or fame involved. Nothing has been big and nothing has been notable, but I've had fun. After all, having fun is all that matters.
