After being the mastermind behind the infamous "Unknown Error" production force for three years, Rob Dickeson a.k.a. Apex has emerged as a new solo artist.
With Unknown Error featuring on labels such as Lifted Music, Renegade Hardware, Moving Shadow, Defcom and Horizons, covering a diverse range of styles, Apex has already begun to continue from where he left off.
His debut work as Apex - 'The Space Between feat. Ayah', has made its way straight onto Hospital Recordings and into the BBC Radio1 D&B Top Ten. The track was released in April 07, and also features on the 'Weapons of Mass Creation 3' CD release in in the same month. Andy C has also picked it up for his latest acclaimed D&B Arena Mix release.
Apex will be pushing his sound primarily through the pioneering Lifted Music collective, with his debut EP, Wall Of Sound just released at the end of may.
All 4 Tracks are on display for your listening pleasure..."Same Old Blues", "Hench", "In Motion", and "Nowhere To Run". Plus "Same Old Blues" has caught the attention of Andy C once again and appears on the huge Nightlife 4 compilation cd. Lifted have already caused shockwaves throughout the scene with their tearing debut release The Prologue, and Spor's Supernova plus the collaboration EP which was released in Jan 2008...in which Apex features on the Andy C favourite "Dirge".
"Falling" and "Weeping Willow" were released on the Horizons Music Label, aswell as "The Yearning (Apex VIP)" backed with "By The Way". The "Bachelors of Science - Strings Track - Apex Remix" (also on Horizons Music) has been nominated for best Drum and Bass single of 2008 in the Beatport awards.
"Emo Funk" and "breathe" formed a 12" single released through New Zealand based Bulletproof's Cyanide label around june 08.
"Locked on" was Featured on the highly successful All Sounds Electric 2 LP on Critcal recordings at the end of the summer 08.
"Entrapment" will be on the next Lifted release and the brand new remix of London Elektricity's "Just One Second" will be out on the SICK MUSIC LP in July 2009 on Hospital Recordings.

Blu Mar Ten atmospheric originators and heavyweights of ambient drum & bass science return with their first new material to cross the 170bpm threshold in three years.
Musical chameleons, this North London trio has spent the last couple of years crossing genre boundaries with their much acclaimed downtempo album 'Black Water'. As we move deeper into the new millennium Blu Mar Tens return to d&b is long overdue. The first single from their forthcoming album gives us a tantalizing taste of what we can expect later this year.

Recalling the growling groove of the early Virus output, Close has an angry tech-step flow, peppered with mentasm and menace. Its likely to take a few people by surprise, and, as weve come to expect with Blu Mar Ten, the music is written in more than two dimensions. An inquisitive vocal and some silky synths layer a curious narrative over the raging tsunami of buzzing synths. DJ support has been very strong, from names as diverse as Marky, Ed Rush, Teebee, Phace, Makoto, Futurebound, Utah Jazz, A Sides, Big Bud, Spectrasoul and the Hospital DJs.

In stark contrast to Close, Above Words showcases the more ethereal sound for which Blu Mar Ten are renowned. Hybrid beats and a monstrous mixdown remind us that these boys remain technically well ahead of the game, with a towering reese bassline, Derrick May-esque strings and a heart-rending piano line. Showcasing the best in romantic drum & bass, Above words is getting heavyweight support from D Bridge, Instra:mental, Metalheadz, Seba, SPY, Ink, London Elektricity, Lynx, Storm, Data, D Kay, Crissy Criss, Tom Middleton, ASC, Kubiks & Lomax and many more.
