Echelon Records presents you the Gloom EP by Lodos.

LODOS - GLOOM EP

1) Gloom (Original Mix)

The name track of the EP is the mellowest of the bunch. Carried on by a groovy, bouncing bassline and accompanied by airy synths, Gloom pulses a soothing summery feel. The main melodic theme joins in and gradually descends into a tranquil breakdown. While the synths keep playing their harmonies, a tremoloing chord builds up and prepares for another melodic take off.

2) Influenza (Original Mix)
Influenza shows the more progressive side of Lodos' sound with its smooth atmosphere. The track is based on a few repeating and rhythmically alterating melodic patterns. While the roaming bass line gives the track good speed, the themes and progression are rather based on percussions and rhythms.

3) Distances (Original Mix)
Distances is the most uplifting and trancey track of this fine release. A strong bassline keeps the tune tightly packed and themes fuse together into a melodic blend, given a bright sound by bass line variations. The middle part breaks down into long synth draws and guitar theme emerges, followed by a beautiful piano. After a moment of calm, the track lifts up and the bass line punches the track going for a second go.

4) Gloom (Ima'gin Remix)
The Ima'gin remix of Gloom is based completely on the main melodic theme of the original mix. It is first introduced as an accompanying background melody, but only the breakdown brings out the whole melody. Warm strings and synths give a hovering, spacey background for the bright piano melody while the bassline is more clubby than in the original.

5. Distances (Tempo Giusto Remix)
The well known techy yet melodic sound of Tempo Giusto gives a wholly different feel to 'Distances'. Borrowing several themes and elements from the original mix, the remix begins with a misty, exciting sound. The breakdown guitar theme of the original is paired with warm pads, followed by a short techy variation of another theme which then kicks off the second part. The misty melodies of the beginning return, added with some new elements, and finally the track fades away little by little.
