Simon Baring is co-director of The Human Touch booking agency, Minimal Mayhem events company, Eye2Ear Music Syncing Agency and formative member of the new band Casanueva (Myspace page coming soon).
This comes after years of music production, making parties and helping out with two years worth of Glade Festivals. In September 2005 Simon was hired by Twisted Records (
http://www.twisted.co.uk) to help in the official capacities of running the label and supervised the organisation of the Twisted Label parties in March and October 2006 & May 2007. It was from this platform that he started his official DJ career. In December 2006, after an impressive gig in Switzerland in front of 1000 people and label owner, Simon Posford (Shpongle, Hallucinogen, Younger Brother), he was made an official Twisted DJ.
Since starting out hes played in the USA, Israel, Russia, Ibiza, Morocco, Costa Rica, Greece, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Finland and Hungary with more bookings pouring in all the time. Brazil, Japan & Chile are the latest countries to make bookings with Simon for 2009.
Widely acclaimed wherever hes played, the gigs keep getting bigger and better! Its been a meteoric rise in the short time hes been on the circuit. He recently played on the main stage of the Glade Festival (
http://www.gladefestival.com) introducing the Younger Brother live set!
Whilst performing as a Twisted Records label DJ playing PsyTrance, Lounge and Chill Out, he also made his own parties under the name Minimal Mayhem (
http://www.minimal-mayhem.co.uk) specialising in minimal, prog, house, techno, electro & breaks.
In October 2008, he left the umbrella of Twisted Records to pursue his own musical path in the world of Minimal Mayhem. He plays everything and anything that will mix together. Bits of techno, electro, tech house, minimal, progressive and psychedelia. A non conformist, he likes to keep the dancefloor guessing. Whilst floating between the genres he still keeps it deep, driving, sexy and psychedelic.
As a part time producer for many years hes just started to find his feet after a few years of concentrating on Djing. His recent Burn It Up remix for Martin Youth Glover has catapulted him into the limelight with many people regarding it as one of the sounds of the summer of 2008.
He is hard at work in the studio writing his own material so youll be able to book him for a LIVE set very soon.
