Finity is pleased to present - 'Xspective Sense - Whisper of An Angel'.

16-year-old rising Finnish talent Samuel Kovanko is showing skills with his debut release at Finity.

Coming from a very musical family, Samuel Kovanko found the wonderful world of software sequencers at tender age of 12. Not too long after that, Japanease label Aoiro got interested of his track "Unfair" later leading to several clubs rotations all over Japan.

Polishing his producing skills, Samuel, still only 16 years old, caught the attention of Finity with massive chop-vocal progtrancer reminicent of the styles of Maor Levi and Andy Moor.

"Whisper of An Angel", to be released early September, is already getting support around the globe from DJs such as Markus Schulz, Andy Moor, Matt Darey, Mike Shiver, Ronski Speed, Suzy Solar, Mat Zo, Smith & Pledger, Les Hemstock, Sied Van Riel, Andrew Parsons and Jose Amnesia.

1) Original Mix
"Whisper of An Angel" is a stunning progressive trance gem. Guitars, chopped up vocals and a melodic atmosphere feel reminds us of the style of Maor Levi.

2) Beetseekers Remix
Beetseekers aka Simo Paganus, known from his various aliases at Joof and Deepblue delivers a superb remix. Keeping the elements of the original, while adding some uplifting groove and vibes, his remix takes us back to the times when Trance was written with capital T.

kliseisestä nimestään huolimatta ihan mainio biisi, ja etenkin biitinhakijoiden remiksi jyllää. Olkoonkin että on aika paljo velkaa jo noille mainituille Andy Moorille ja Maor Leville :)

Findance Arvostelu

16-vuotias Samuel Kovanko on kotimaisen trance-musiikin uusi lupaus. Nuorenmiehen Xspective Sense projekti tulee uljaasti esiin biisillä Whisper Of An Angel.

Finity Recordings returns with a follow-up to their hugely successful Syna "Do You Feel?" "Whisper of An Angel" comes courtesy of Samuel Kavenko under the alias Xspective Sense. This lush, progressive trance track comes complete with a Beetseekers remix. Not as powerful or catchy as Finity's previous release, this one still is a nice tune worth checking out. A further look will explain more:

Original Mix

Subtle, smooth percussion is soon followed by sidechained pads and eventually a rather nice bassline following a delightful chord progression. Cute high-pitched plucks join in on the fun as well. The pads filter down after a while and a subtle guitar line drops in and out with the addition of an odd chopped vocal filtering in. The breakdown features lush, un-sidechained pads in a rather beautiful chord progression. The vocals are also featured at this time, which aren't very catchy and just seem a bit bland. The chord patterns change several times before finally settling on an original concept, which finally takes shape as the track builds up into the chorus. The chorus consists of the vocal chops, the guitar, the bass and the pads. Definitely enjoyable, but perhaps a bit fluff-sounding. A decent effort overall.

Beetseekers Remix

A kick and subtle percussion starts things off. More tribalish percs filter in and are soon joined by a deep, soft bassline. Blips and an acid riff soon filter in as well. The bass kick in after a quick reverse cymbal at the 1:30 mark. Vocal blips appear gradually as well. The atmosphere is quite uplifting though perhaps a bit fluffy again. The breakdown soon emerges and the lovely pads that were in place filter down as a sine blip filters in and then disappears. Pads are featured next, along with a few vocal chops. A sweep brings in a breakbeat riff and some average chord changes and a bassline. Things seem to drag on at this point but thankfully a steady kick drops in to bring some change. The vocals stop for a moment but return 16 measures later with several layer of percussion. It seems at this point that the track isn't quite going down the route that you had expected. Things carry on for another minute before the track breaks down once again and the original chord progression and strings from earlier on resurface. The rather uplifting start was a bit misleading compared to the midsection of the track. The chorus returns with some FX sweeps, which features the bass, strings and vocal chops from earlier on. After a brief moment the chorus ends and the track quickly unwinds. Not a bad effort, but the original definitely overshadows this remix.

Conclusion

Not a bad release overall. Progressive trance definitely worth a listen. The original comes out on top but each mix has its highlights. 3/5

The steady stream of quality productions from Finity continues to flow with this track by Xpective Sense. The Beetseekers are there to put in some top drawer remix work...

1) Whisper Of An Angel (Original Mix)
I see this track as a kind of uplifting but progressive production - it seems to borrow from several genres though, as you sense as the music unfolds. A very easy going 130BPM is the base for a strong leading bassline which plays a dominant and ever rotating set of chords, layered on top of this is a delicate and dancing synthline which adds a light and floaty sense to things. Highly sampled vocals are cut up and spliced together to form an additional lead with a hypnotic quality. This is joined by an acoustic guitar - the blend created by a voice and an acoustic instrument such as the guitar is a wonderful combination.

2) Whisper Of An Angel (Beetseekers Remix)
This remix comes in with a quicker pace and a much trancier style. The heavy bass has been replaced with synth strings, creating a softer and smoother feel. The guitar and vocal are utilised early on and there's also a hint of a piano used in there somewhere. This lovely combination of natural sounding instruments comes to a head and then gives way to a shimmeringly beautiful breakdown. Pads line the background, strings add shrill, exciting tones, the vocal continues its hypnotic journey and a breakbeat is put into good effect to keep things moving overall. Everything is combined after this and the result is a truly complete sound which flows effortlessly and will take you away easily to a warm and soothing place. A stunning remix!

Conclusion:
'Whisper Of An Angel' is a quality tune. Fantastic for progressive sets or earlier trance sets, it's a breath of fresh air to see something that looks away from powerful synthlines or driving rhythms. Best mix for me is the Beetseekers Remix - great use of all the instruments and the vocal, plus the breakdown will make you come back wanting more of it.
