Originating from Finland, the psytrance duo Tripteaser was established in 2002 by 1984-born Jonny Jansson and Tuukka Jääskeläinen. They had met two years before and had already begun cooperating as fellow producers, creating all styles of electronic music. They both had a history in making music with tracker programs on the computer and even visual art. While Jonny only has former experience in computer music, Tuukka has played different instruments and was a keyboardist in a metal band. They also have a downtempo sideproject called Solarians, which has already released on Com.pact Records (Israel). By the end of 2002 the guys had their first actual live performance in Austria which they did with trackers on two computers, jamming fully live.
STYLE & PRESENCE
The quality of duality
While the main focus of Tripteaser is in full-on, they dare to break the boundaries of familiar styles with a subtle touch of scandinavian quirkyness and their open sense of musical exploration.
Ever since the beginning they have not concentrated merely on a single style such as morning or night trance but have dynamically expressed their inspiration in both melodic and non-melodic, the yin and the yang, music for the day and night for listening both in the car and home stereo and dancing in the woods and dancefloors! Since their first performance they have mastered a unique method of live performing which enables them to completely blow their tracks apart only to build them back up again, ground up in a unique structure that is different every time, completely live before the audience. So far they've had releases on Shiva Space Technology, Synergetic Recs. and Moonstone Recs., performed live at parties in Finland, Norway and Austria, including events such as Batusim psy camp, electronic music festival Koneisto and Konemetsä with popular performers such as Lemurians, Logic Bomb, Silicon Sound, Raja Ram and Infected Mushroom and remixed and co-produced Lemurians and Serotonot/Poliisi (FI)
