Representing the Toronto sound a bit on this one. I used Ableton Live to mix this. My goal for this set was to promote my friends and other music I'm into. Enjoy!

Local artists include Daniel Dubb, Deadmau5, Jerome Robins, & Glenn Morrison.

Local labels include Morrison Recordings & Release Records.

Cheers. =)

Deadmau5 is one of my favorite electrohouse producers atm. I liked the set although you could have mixed the beginning of the set tighter, but that's just my opinion (and I like it tight). Hope you could play some more techy less housey tracks on 16.6. tho *nauru*. See ya then.

For sure I will be playing more of an ug set @ K-Klubi. I've seen some videos from JYTKE nights and sorta know what to expect. Don't worry, I'll be mixing for real and not with Ableton. =) I tried the Ableton method because I wanted to see what it's like to mix a compilation album like a pro. For example, John Digweed mixed his Transistions series using Ableton...but when I saw the man live in the States he was almost as flawless on CDJs, really impressive actually.

So that's the idea, both pro djs and bedroom djs can cut corners in the "studio" to promote their sound...but when it comes to the performance aspect of the club game there is no faking it.

Cheers. =)

Or you could mix with ableton and show us some of that magic. I'm am not against the digital revolution at all (reinoh and I are polar opposites in this respect *iloinen*).

if you want to have a taste of "digital magic", why not use final scratch or something equal to it. I mean, there is really no point having anybody behind the decks mixing as a dj flawlessly with ableton, is there. for a live set it works and it`s just my opinion though, but I wouldn`t appreciate a dj like that much. with these kind of sets used to promote music instead of showing skills I think it`s perfectly fine, but mixing a live dj set with ableton I think you could just put a mix cd on and go hang at the bar. NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE.

btw, there`s plenty of great music coming out of canada at the mo. Labels like Mathew Jonson`s Wagon Repair and Adam Marshall`s New Kanada and Mike Shannon`s Cynosure are putting out some of the best music right now. And yeah, that guy Richie wasn`t born there and now lives in Berlin, but Windsor is in Canada isn`t it?

Like I said, I don't use Ableton for DJing when I play live and I don't plan on it in the future. I agree totally J. Kusti with what you say. I've seen Sasha, Junkie XL, and Richie Hawtin using Ableton in the clubs. However, I still prefer real djing even if there are mistakes in the set.

And yes Windsor is in Canada.

Respect. =)
