Voi sanonko mikä!!! Keviniä odotettu ku kuuta nousevaa, kuljetus varattu, vaatteet tehty ja nyt iskee joku prkl virus päälle! Vaivaset 39c kuumetta. Viimeks kun hesaan pääsin lähtemään iski sillonki hirvee räkätauti päälle. Tä on joku vitsaus! Mutta tämä tätihän lähtee tänne vaikka pää kainalossa!!!!!

Ensi lauantain Housenation2007 -tapahtumaa odotellessa teimme pienehkön haastattelun pääesintyjämme Blank & Jonesin kanssa.
Tässä siis Jaspan ja Pietin tunnelmia vajaa viikko ennen tulevaa esiintymistään Helsingissä!

Could you tell with few words about your history. How did you got involved in electronic music and clubbing culture, did you or do you still go out in your free time for example? And how things got evolved to this point from where you started?
At this time electronic music was very different from the usual music scene and had a lot of attraction for us, especialy in the clubs this music blew your mind. We are still going out from time to time with some friends, but I have to admit since we are spending a lot of our lives in clubs DJing we have had to cut back a little.
In your own words, for clubbers in Helsinki, how would you describe the music and style you play?
Its Electronic Music in its general meaning and we are always open minded for all the different styles it provides us. We love melodies in combination with electronic beats, Lets call uplifting or euphoric.
Who do you feel has had the biggest influence in your sound? Do you have any particular music styles or artists that you want to turn up?
We are influenced by our own lives, our personal experiences and the all the good music out there.
Looking back at your career what have been most memorable moments so far?
Playing in front of 1.500.000 million people at Love Parade in Berlin and see the crowd go mad.
So are there any embarrassing ones, the sets youd prefer to forget? When it all went wrong for one reason or another?
Its always embarrassing if you have technical problems during a set, because the people might think you are responsible for it. We once had an electricity breakdown at a rave in San Francisco,...5 times!
Which are your main ambitions for this year?
We are releasing chapter 3 of our chill-out concept Relax which will be released in spring. Currently we are working on new club material which will be out later this year, plus a remix for Delerium some more remixes for major pop bands.
I suppose answer for this is both, but do you prefer DJing or producing and which one came first to picture?
Its the synergy of both. It's good to put your club experiences into music and play it out again in the clubs. DJing was first in place, but quickly followed by producing.
They are more like Siamese twins now!
What do you think about the digital revolution. Do you have a preference playing either CDs or vinyl or maybe mp3s?
We are playing total digitally now. We are using NI Traktor and a mixing controller.
This offers you a lot of new opportunities and makes it easier for global traveling ;)
And how about the digital releasing. Good or bad for the scene or for the business?
We think it's good for the business and scene, because it keeps the music alive and travelling. But digital distribution is still far away from replacing the physical business in general. Vinyl will have its final moments very soon, sorry.
From all the tracks you've produced, what is your favorite one?
They are all like our little babies, so we dont want to pick one as best!
Where can we expect to see you DJ over the coming months? Busy schedule as always?
We are touring currently the USA and we will play at the WMC and later this year will play a lot of gigs in Scandinavia, UK and East Europe.
What is the one track that you make sure is in your record bag in every gig at the moment?
Onetwo Kein Anschluss (Rhythmus Raum Remix)
We did the Remix, but its more electro driven with German Vocals. Check it out!
Is there a venue or promotion you consider come home to when you are asked to play there? Do you currently have some residencies for any clubs or organizations?
Its definitly The Guverment in Toronto, which is one of the best clubs in the World
And for all the ladies, they certainly need to know, what do you enjoy to do when you're not DJing/producing, if that doesnt take all your time?
It takes nearly all of our time, but when we are not working,we are into cooking...and sleeping;)
Finnish people always love to hear what people know about our tiny small country. Do you know anything, more that Mikä Häkkinen and Formula one?
Yes, we do: Wodka and Spa ;) ..and a lot of gothic rock bands. But we are always up to learn something new!
Are you familiar with the Finnish electronic music scene at all? If you ever been here before, how do you think it might differs from your native scene and crowds at the parties?
We think we just played there once at the Labirynth Rave some years ago. We just stayed for a couple of hours, but the party was amazing. We are very curious to find out more!
Do you have any particular to say to the Finnish crowds? What will be expected from your long-awaited set here in Helsinki?

Ei taida olla näitten ihan eka keikka lavolla eikä taatusti viimenenkään. Että ei tää nyt ehkä ole mikään ylitsepääsemätön takaisku Suomen polkkakansalle
(sori pakko vähän tylyttää...ei mulla sinänsä oo mitään ko. poikia vastaan, ehkä vaan tullu nähtyy nää POCit ja CB:t ja Szahalat pari kertaa liikaa

Kyse olisi nyt mielestäni kuitenkin niistä, jotka mielellään kuulisivat puolta tuntia pitemmän setin hyvältä artistiporukalta, kuten allekirjoittanut.
No, mutta kun on lusikalla annettu niin ei voi kauhalla ottaa, vai miten se menikään.
