Kenen - Shakuhachi (original & kutikula mixes)
release date: January 15, 2007
label: Kutikula
distribution: Junodownload.com
Packed with a solid groove and distinctively different mixes,
Kutikula's second release "Kenen - Shakuhachi" features
the classic 80's flute sample from Emulator II, backed with a
horse neigh that brings up warm feelings over the dancefloor.
Kutikula club mix is geared towards funky house clubs with
some contemporary electro feel to it. Filtered loops make
room to a selection of brass stabs and chopped up vocals.
This mix definitely has potential for crossover success.
Kutikula progressive dub drops the gimmicks and focuses
on a bare-bones pounding beat, fat swells and lush reverb - the
trademark elements of progressive house. Perfect fit for the
lovers of groovy and hypnotic big-room wallops.
The original mix stacks most melodies on top of a thumping
bass section. Kenen's dreamy soundscapes float around and
turn upside down in a continuous playful motion. Recommended
for the early club hours as well as in your ipod's playlist.
