Well!!! That was one different way to spend a "Christmas Day!"
As I once mentioned on this forum, we U.K people go out and get canned up
on the 24th December to have a hungover Xmas day on the 25th. So bars/clubs 24th... Family etc 25th (no going out)... This was just the opposite :) And was exactly the way to have it large on the 25th!
I had an absolutely great laugh... Loads of people came to get hammered and dance off the xmas Ham :)
I'll begin with thanks to Jussi, Seppo and Olli who were the organisers behind this. It worked as well as it did the previous year. Maybe even better this time :D
In Rank order of DJ sets I'll say some praise. "Sepi" was a real pro on the mic... I caught the end of his opening set... Good stuff there, which was duely followed by the debutants "Amma ja Ansku" (Back2Bum). They need a round of applause for the effort put into the gig. I think they spent a good few nights getting to grips with their tunes selection and use of the DJ equipment. It was a real show! I think this isn't the first time we see this dynamic duo!
"Nenna ja Reb". A tight set of great electro orientated proggy beats! I enjoyed very much. Good mixing and tune selection was all in sync. I guess there will be much more to come as the more and more I hear... the better it gets! :)
"Jussi 'blind' Soro"... Those glasses! Amazing ;) They looked like those tripped out cardboard 3D ones that you could get from cereal packets back in the eighties!

It was amusing to watch... and also good to listen to. Good blind mixing, and tunes as always were uplifting and fitted everyones happy mood :)
"Olli"... The Coca-Cola Master! I was wondering all evening what the f*ck the 6-8 empty glasses and athe bottle were doing there??? Then all was revealed! But maybe too hard a challenge after a stomach full of carrot and swede box with Ham
Better luck next time....Anyways, good set and some driving tunes! Got that dancefloor in full motion!
I'll end with a quick thanks to everyone who danced to my outrageously different DJ set of Old Skool Happy Hardcore! It's Old Skool (early 1990's) but still gets people to smile and dance! Maybe every now and then, a genre not played so much (regularly) in Turku should touch the club scene just for a change and a laugh (once/twice a year)...
Wishing everyone a fantastic remaining few days in 2006 and all to have a Happy New Year!
Until 2007...
One HUGE!!! Thanks for all the support from Turku people! You are all great! I haven't been here long... but theres some very lovely people who certainly know how to club hardcore!!! I feel welcome anyway... Over and Out!
Progression :)
