Rossi: (Helsinki, Finland) - Biography

Rossi’s introduction to the underground dance scene began in the late 1990's. His musical tastes had been influenced by high profile DJ mixes. Rossi slowly adopted his own style of music; A blend of Soul, funky beats and groovy basslines. This was House music. Having spent many weekends mingling with Hesinki’s Club/Bar DJ’s, Rossi was truly bitten! He made his move to begin DJ’ing.

An investment into a pair of Technics saw Rossi’s journey begin. Fine tuning his technique and discovering his true musical genre, he gained contacts from the Helsinki clubbing scene. It wasn’t long before Rossi was offered a residency partnership with ‘Klabi’ in System Bar Underground, central Helsinki.

During his residency in 2004 Rossi’s style became more and more defined. Playing alongside Helsinki DJ’s Aslak, Oxid, OlliS, Milla Lehto, Kaiu & Sakura, Spoogy and Mr.A to name a few. Things went from strength to strength! In Christmas 2004 Rossi landed a central DJ’ing roll at “The Players Club” Christmas showdown at Kaivohuone. With a talent ridden line-up of Aslak, Jay Lamar (AM Specialists.net), Eliot Ness, Wayne Fountain (F-Recordings, Vinyl Sessions, UK), Wes (Club Type, Plasticfantastic.co.uk), Rossi was playing with the cream of the crop!

In April 2005 Rossi joined the organisation “Helsinki Underground Collective” (www.helsinkiundergroundcollective.com). Here Rossi’s nurtured style of groovy, progressive, big room sounds with a twist of tribal/tech beats can be heard in his online mixes.
