Biography
Marko Vilkman; aka: Flight burst into the Finnish electronic music scene with a real impact. Already dubbed as a true 'House master', Flight's distinctive sound has charmed and seduced audiences across the country. Formed from a blend of upfront house and techno, his DJ sets are brimming with pumping grooves, rocking melodies and wall shaking basslines.
Flight's predominantly undiscovered DJ'ing talent was swiftly exhibited at main stage performances in some of Finland's biggest dance events 'Laserpoint/Labyrinth 2009' and waterpark extrordinaire 'Pacifique'. Promoters from major Finnish electronic music organizations; 'DanceteriA', 'Aero', 'Hallmark', 'Choon', 'Konemetsä' and Sweden's prestigious 'MondayBar' are just a handful of recent bookings who have summoned for House Romeo DJ Flight's musical abilities. His versatility behind the decks suits anything from big-room stages to underground raves or mainstream clubs. Flight is a true charismatic performer who reads between the lines to get any dance floor moving.
In his home city of Tampere, Flight has rapidly earned his place as a key figure in the club promotership scene. Over the previous three years he has established, marketed and run two successful club events. Hugely popular club 'Romance' has clearly expressed Flights passion towards house music whilst club 'ONE' has emphasised his feelings on different genres and equally gained a straight road to instant success.
On the production side, Flight has been busy in the studio working on tracks with numerous DJ's. Teaming up with fellow Finn 'Jontey', the duo have already won a "Bedroom Bedlam" on the world famous 'Pete Tong's TV'. The success of this solo release saw an instant signing to Helsinki based 'Danceteria' recordings. Adding to this initial success, the pair reworked the Coldplay track Viva La Vida which shot directly into the Finnish dance chart and gained support from trance giants Tiësto & ATB. With inspiration running high, a further string of productions have been flowing from the studio. Signings to System Recordings, Lost Language and Direct Drive, seem to indicate a sign of much more to come.
Expect a wholesome years as Flight climbs the ladder even higher and has plenty more under his sleeve. A true party animal who has been in love with music since his early childhood.
