MIKE E (Touching Down, UK)

Up rising star of drum'n bass Mike Kaila, a.k.a DJ Mike E, was an old trance & techno DJ in his early days of dance music. This is before locking onto the drum'n bass sounds, which he has always respected been a U.K. sound originally. He started listening to old electro tapes and hip hop at school. "I got influenced firstly into rave sounds when I heard a Top Buzz tape back in 91, which had these mad jungle sample breaks with hard kick techno samples & MC lyrics on top of them. I have never looked back since these days".

It was after Mike went to music college, that he decided to fuel all his energy into the drum'n bass scene. It became a fresh new challenge for him to go into a music genre from scratch. "I was hungry & want to been known for creating good sounds. Also at the same time pushing forward drum'n bass & helping push new talent through" Mike mentions. Since 2001 after his production course, Mike has seen his music reach radio shows from Pyrotechnic Radio, SBN, GrooveTech & other dance stations Worldwide. "I am also getting support from DJ's in the scene, from Nicky Blackmarket right through to L Double @ Radio1 Xtra who have played dub plates of my production & my forthcoming label releases".

Over the last few years Mike as been playing at venues all over the U.K. & Europe, alongside DJ's such as Randall, Phantasy, Nicky Blackmarket, Kano, Brockie, L Double, MC Fearless to name just a few. Add to this radio show slots on Pyrotechnic Radio, GaiaLive, www.planetdnb.com, drumandbasstv.com & various host of other stations. He has also been a bedroom producer winner for a competition on the Circumference show, at SBN digital channel 894 @ the time in 2002. "That was great for me, as gave me lots more encouragement & energy to reach my goals as an artist".

INFEKTO (Nine2five, Passanger)

nfekto (Riku Pentti) has been the brokenbeats pioneer in Finland since 1994. Co-founder of the first finnish breakbeat/hip hop label Pyssy and half of the chart topping hip hop/beats producer duo Skillsters he has now been hired to produce and be a part of the live act of Bomfunk MCs - Finlands biggest dance music export.

Though a key player in the Helsinki scene, he is based further north in Tampere, another hotbed of Finnish music, home of house act U&K among others.

Many Finnish hip hop acts have hired Infekto's avantgarde scratching skills. He is also the founder of the eclectic breakbeat club Beatformers now stronger than ever in its 6th year. As his infulences he always mentions Spede (Finnish comedian/inventor), Chevy Chase & Biz markie. His most powerful inspiration though must still be crosscountry skiing in the cold dark woods of Finland.
Infekto's tunes and DJ sets combine the whole spectrum of broken beats from funk to hip hop to nu breaks to drum& bass not forgetting the raw ol' skool hardcore sound of 92' and a touch of jazz. His first release on 925 "Left hand Jazz" got rave reviews from some of the biggest names in the business: Roni Size 5/5, "buy it Now" Knowledge magazine; appeared on Gilles Peterson comp; on cover of a Muzik magazine. etc. And that was just opening the flood gates. What followed was wide variety of breakbeat mayhem and critical acclaim on such UK labels as Passenger and Hospital contenuing to this day.

Infekto's dare we say it, 'infectious', breakbeat bootegs on the unofficial "medcab" label ("Me Myself and I", "Infekto's Message" and "Warzone") have been among the most creative and enjoyable unofficial breaks mixes of the past year, gaining support from all the A league breaks DJs.

Joo. Ihan hyvää menoa. Taitaa tää rumpubasso skene olla sen verran maanalainen tääl suomes ettei noinkaan 'isoa' paikkaa saada täyteen. Spree oli loistava.

Iso kiitos järkkäreille.
