Like Lee Coombs structures a drum programming so tight, that some people wonder whether it?s really breakb-b---eat. This is what it sounds like when Coombs works, ?cause pigeons refuse to go in holes. L ?double-E? Coombs bathed himself in acid house parties since the start of DJ career in 1989 around London and Cambridge. In a slip and slide into the industry, Coombs rapidly made a name for himself. Deep into 1991 he produced his first record under the name of The Invisible Men on Orbital Records.
Meanwhile aside from his heavy recording schedule Lee has continued to call the DJ drill at major clubs around the world including Bugged Out and Fabric, Spundae in LA, Vinyl in New York, Womb club in Japan, the list goes on ... Finger Lickin? national tours, a San Fran residency and a trip to Australia for the 2 Tribes tour has certainly kept the Coombs man well absorbed in his work. Lee even flew to Prague in the summer of 2003 to record music with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra for BBC television program ?Born To Win?.
2004 has seen Lee Coombs back in the studio writing like a demon in preparation for his album release in September. He has collaborated with the best of the best including Dylan Rhymes, Christian J, Rennie Pilgrim and Meat Katie and his album ?Breakfast Of Champions? is a sure-fire winner full of breakbeat bombs and tech-house monsters.
