One year ago in January 2004 something happened in the Helsinki nightlife, The Player´s Club was born! First as a private and exclusive event, but during the following year the event grew both in size and reputation. Now be prepared for something special. Wes (Club Type, Plasticfantastic, UK)
It was early inspirational experiences at Club UK and Club 4 Life at the Gardening Club, that started the ball rolling for Wes. Come 1996 he was djing everywhere, playing sets at Ministry Of Sound, The Aquarium & The Hanover Grand to name but a few.
After bagging the enviable job as manager of the new Plastic Fantastic record shop in Ibiza, in 2000, his superb deck skills opened many doors. Regular sets at Clockwork Orange (Es Paradis), God´s Kitchen & Cream (Amnesia), and his specially constructed sets for the Kanya Sunset Bar have made him a name to drop amongst the DJ fraternity.
Back at the Plastic Fantastic´s HQ in Covent Garden his extensive knowledge of music and his management skills led to a position as Internet/Website Manager. Throughout the long winter months he was in demand for his outrageously cool sets at the likes of John Digweed´s Bedrock nights, and Seb Fontaine´s Type parties.
Wes´ residency at Type (Seb Fontain's Club) has gone from strength to strength and this is without doubt one of the biggest nights in the UK. He has also become a firm favourite with the evolving dance scene around the world. His sets at the amazing Peppermint Lounge in Dubai are becoming legendary and he will be playing there for a very special New Year´s Eve party.
With a monthly show representing Type on the Ministry Of Sound radio, gigs around the world and his own production material with partner Oliver Macgregor (Harlem Nights Resident) Wes is one to look out for. Be prepared for the pure quality Wes will bring to The Players Club @Kaivohuone.
Wayne Fountain (F-Recordings, Vinyl Sessions, UK)
Starting at the age of 15 Wayne found that a bit of fun grew into a passion.
12 years on and he has come a long way since then. Credited for his Ahead of the pack approach by leading dance magazine Muzik, Wayne certainly knows how to work the floor.
With successes in the much acclaimed Muzik Magazine Bedroom Bedlam competition and closely followed by the IDJ Magazine Dj competition as well as gigs on the Muzik Magazine tour, warm up dj for Sander Kleinenberg at Renaissance, Wayne´s popularity and gigs have rocketed. After being signed to a European booking and promotions agency (OFU) and gigs up and down the UK Wayne landed a residency at Soulshaker, a 200 capacity purpose built club The past years have seen Wayne playing numerous gigs all over Europe and the world including Soundsjop (Holland), Mecca (Czeck Republic), Deepmotin (Finland), Ocean and Zoo Bar ens Carma (Denmark), Symbiosis (Barcelona) Spain, Shambala and Club Ministry (Moscow) Russia,Inauguracio (Can Picafort) Spain, Shambala Party (St Petersburg) Russia,Vinyl & The Gallery presents Sold Out (Slovenia), Vinyl Boat party (Slovenia) Hybrid (Helsinki) Finland, and a spate of guest mixes for Housepacific FM, which is Broacasted throughout Europe. Wayne´s mixes have been called dark, moody and throbbing house... underground stuff mixed together in an intelligent way (IDJ Magazine).
2004 has seen Wayne continue his march throughout Europe, guesting in Germany, Spain, France, Russia, Ireland and most notably appearing in the progressive arena at the Meet-Me open air festival alongside Steve Lawler and Desyn Masiello in Slovenia. Coupled with these he launched his own night in spring (Vinyl Sessions) and signed to F-recordings, look out for future releases in 2005.
