A Night at the Playboy Mansion... Respect in Paris is over. Respect is Burning is about to launch its house crusade abroad by setting up residencies around the world. A marathon that takes us around the world in a 747, going from one party to another, from the Twilo in New York to the Metro in Chicago, from the Fuse in Brussels to the D! Club in Lausanne and the Vega in Copenhagen. Non-stop. Then we come back to Paris with the Thalys fast train, catch a cab to get to Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, have a meal on the plane and a joke with Danish customs. Weekends that never end. Hardcore nightclubbing. And every Wednesday night, we are back in Paris for the Secret Party with its weekly disco vibe. Bulldog and Bourbon-Coke. And once again we are back with Dimitri at the turntables.
Thanks to Respect we travelled all over the world with the number one disco entertainer and we got to know all his mixing tricks, his secret tunes and heard the old anthems coming back to life on his decks. The magic is still there. It is Monday and we just got back from a transatlantic weekend. The promo mix of A Night at the Playboy Mansion is being played over and over again. The sound gets louder on Give Me Love and we still believe in it as if it was the first Respect party in 1996 or that unbelievable set at the Liquid in Miami for the Winter Music Conference. Dimitri in full effect. We know that in a few weeks time we will be in New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles with him. We will end up at the mythical Mansion in Beverly Hills, the home of Hugh Hefner, the Man who founded Playboy magazine. Respect to the man. Guess what the guest list will be like. Don\'t ring if you don\'t swing. And when The Place is Rockin is played, we know why we are party animals. Because the mix is a dream come true, adrenalin rising high on the dancefloor and some unbelievable stuff happening backstage. Dimitri rules. Party is life. If sex were a DJ, he would be Dimitri from Paris.
In company with his compatriots Daft Punk and Cassius, Dimitri From Paris is acclaimed as one of the finest French DJs, remixers and artists on the international scene. Based in France but born in Turkey, Dimitri first began to make a name for himself in the music world in the eighties, when he presented a show on Radio 7. He went on to compose the music for international advertising campaigns, most notably for Yves Saint Laurent and Bourgeois. His career as an artist took off between 93 and 94 with the release of two solo EPs and a mini-album entitled Esquisses. Sacrebleu, his first opus of 98, met with widespread critical and commercial success world- wide, driven by an advertisement for Volvo cars that featured his track Une Very Stylish Fille. Since then, Dimitri has DJed in clubs around the world and is responsible for a string of excellent remixes, notably Stardusts Music Sounds Better With You, the massive international hit that featured on the compilation Respect Is Burning Volume 2.
