The DREADMARK nights have gained tremendous popularity among Jyväskylä’s bass music audiences. Events such as NATTY @ RUMA and the legendary parties in ILOKIVI are definitely where you’d expect to hear the freshest cuts and the most heavy hitting dancefloor stormers in Jyväskylä’s electronic dance music scene. Whereas many Dreadmark events feature a variety of musical styles ranging from dubstep to drum&bass, techno to house and beyond, this time the main focus will be on drum & bass.
Prepare yourself for an onslaught of breaks, beats and bass as we are proud to bring you two Helsinki-based talents to grace the decks in the Ilokivi black box: DEFO and LUNA CHILL. Hosting the night are Dreadmark’s resident junglists CHRIS ROBIN and JOE LOUD.

DEFO
Defo took the first contact with music production about 10 years ago when he joined a band as a singer. Over the years he has played in several bands in different styles. About four years ago Defo began collecting drum&bass vinyls and was inspired to produce his own music. Defo produces drum&bass and takes his influences from various genres such as techno, dubstep and hip-hop. Early 2012 saw the release of Defo’s “Stealth” EP on the UK based label Hustle Audio.
He also has a dubstep/techno side project called Tree.

LUNA CHILL
Luna first got to know the art of DJing in 2009, at the Harju Youth House scratching oldschool hip-hop plates under guidance from Dj Flava. His first public gigs followed quickly through DJ competitions, while getting more and more renown in Helsinki’s electronic music scene.
The SubzUp! -collective was formed in 2010 as Luna was playing weekly internet radio shows with Defo and Subzaholic. Nowadays SubzUp! collaborates with Ivah Sound, running Finland’s only weekly dubstep/drum&bass club (every Tuesday at Iso Roba 10, Helsinki). Luna Chill is also part of the deep bass music club Doomsday, alongside Ray Den, Toby One and Ore.

CHRIS ROBIN
Chris Robin lists funk, soul, jazz and breakbeat as his musical roots… so when he found bits of these styles merged together in the late 90′s drum & bass it was a natural progression and a start of a prosperous DJ career for him. In recent years Chris Robin has become known as a DJ and promoter affiliated with some of the most prolific clubs in Jyväskylä such as Dreadmark, Remedy and Wake-Up!. Chris displays a versatile sound in his sets, and depending on the occasion, one can expect anything from deep, murky drum&bass to banging, techy rollers and breaksy dancefloor killers.

JOE LOUD
Joe Loud started playing records with hip-hop around 2007 and at the same time got influenced by Jyväskylä’s leading drum&bass clubs Wake-Up! and Remedy. Soon after that it was all about drum & bass.
Joe’s sound varies from minimal and glitchy atmospheres to heavy hitters and big bad rollers. Tech, deep and dark, strictly vinyl. He’s the winner of Helsinki Jungle Mafia – New Talentz mixtape competition from late 2011 and member of Dreadmark since 2009.
