"I have always loved disco. Although I have ventured to quite a wide range of musical styles in my days, I have always been drawn to the multicolored light that the mirror ball sprinkles, like a moth whose faith is sealed at the moment he sees the flame.
If anything, disco has a definite sexual dimension to it. The pulsating bass calling your hips, the siren's whispering call to the red, velvet side of dance music. From the early New York days disco set the scene for unforeseen hedonism, fast fingers in the dark corners, puffing of the imaginary feathers on the blazing dance floor. It was not all cute scandinavian kisses from Abba. Soon Italy would become the source of the cheesiest and greasiest disco records, piano sprinkled, teasingly slow dance floor weapons. Sweat blended into sweat, and the foundations of the modern club culture were laid. Disco would become the refuge for freaks of all shapes and colours, and while the commercial rise of disco was followed by the fall of it, that's what disco always remained like in the underground. Freedom of dance, for everyone.
Of course disco made its inevitable comeback a few years ago. And on the top of that new wave of disco Aeroplane was riding. With an amazingly fresh production style the belgian duo of Vito de Luca and Stephen Fasano took what was italo disco and made it into something of their own. Anthemic compositions with heart piercing melancholia, songs that are happy in a sad way, bittersweet like the last days of summer sun. Shamelessly melodic, irresistibly danceable. I was in love from the first sounds of it. That was not love of the mature fashion either. I was bounced back in time, propelled into a teenage first kiss frenzy, being thrown around by vigorous hormones exploding through the blood stream. For me it was sex disguised as music. Not in a shy, flirty way either, but like the demanding, firm hands of an experienced lover, borderline rude in their overwhelming self-assurance. With the genre defining singles like Caramellas, Superstar and Without Lies, breathtaking remixes like the global super hit versions of "Paris" by Friendly Fires and "William's Blood" by Grace Jones, and of course the eventual "We Can't Fly" -album we all got to marvel at what quickly became the Aeroplane trademark sound. Big as a jetliner taking off, glimmering in the sun, never ending lift off. There would also be, and still is, a new Aeroplane DJ -mix available online for free every single month, always surprising me with amazing new music I have never heard before.
Although many have tried to mimic the Aeroplane sound and style from the very beginning, they all have failed. Aeroplane firmly remains at the top of the modern disco movement, making people lose themselves on the floor wherever the scent of kerosene is mixed into the night air. Fasten your seat belts and turn off your electronic appliances. Hold on tight, we're going high."

LOVE STORY 1. DISCOThe sounds we have been grooving on for decades can all be taken back to one place. It started in the 70's and has evolved into hundreds of different genres, sub genres and new movements. No matter where you look and what you listen to in dance music, it all has a home in a place called Disco.
'Disco' is a universal word that is easier experienced than explained. That is probably why new generations are so easily drawn to it. The underground has, and still is calling for people who are not afraid, but thrilled by new experiences.
Remember stepping into a night club and getting hit with a beat that takes over you? It starts with an uncontrolled bumping of the head. Slowly your hole body is hypnotized into the beat. When the melodies enter something inside you explodes and lifts you way up. And that's it. You are in and hooked. Your whole being is begging for the DJ to fly you to undiscovered places. Lucky for all of us, he does take us there. This moment feels new, hedonistic, fun, cosmic and completely unforgettable.
LOVE is thrilled to have Aeroplane, the undisputed king of the new era of Disco come and take us on a trip, where time and space do not exist. Buckle up, order a drink, close your eyes and come with us. On this dance-floor, we CAN fly.
LOVE. Brings us all together.
