HOLZKOPF is home in the centre of the sub-arctic expanse
known as the canadian prairies. it has been an active musical project
since the 2001 release of "only a bad harvest can save us" on Dainty
Deathy Recordings. since then, holzkopf has gained a fan base
throughout Canada and abroad, performing along side Andrew
Duke, Vitaminsforyou, Venetian Snares, Cex, Emil Beaulieau, Knurl, We
Are Wolves and Tim Olive as well as touring with Coin Gutter, Knar,
Piedmont Sorpid and appearing on compilations in the UK, Italy, USA
and Japan alongside Pita, Massimo, Jetone and others. starting as a
noise and drone cut-up style project, it developed into an intensely
unpredictable live and studio act by the time his second album,
"this CD is an apology" (also on Dainty Deathy) was released to
the public. since the release of the second album, holzkopf has been
busy with numerous project, including performing with Today is the
Day (as part of the CBGBs benefit series), AIDS Wolf and Circle of
Dead Children in noisemetal act "adolyne," collaborating with Sakura
"Kant" Watanabe, a three decade veteran of the Tokyo psych rock
scene, releasing a handful of limited edition CDRs and releasing a
noise-hop EP on MP3 label, Severed Digit Recordings.
Press Clips about Holzkopf:
"Interesting mix of electro like a head-on collision of Boards of Canada and Third Eye Foundation with Wolf Eyes and Merzbow. Noisy yet serene, if that makes sense. Downtempo sexiness to drill and bass noise onslaughts. Really great stuff."
-Zookeeper Online
"Although having listened to harsh noise for many years now, when the nine minute pulverizer "Sonar Causes Whales to Kill Themselves" finally subsided, I could safely say it was the loudest motherfucker I had heard since Kevin Drumm's Sheer Hellish Miasma. Just imagine the intensity and volume that you think I'm talking about, and multiply it tenfold and you have a pretty good picture of how loud this really is...With the slightest change in the air, Holzkopf goes from the calmest of climates, to a terrifying titanic hailstorm."
-Brainwashed
"Whether you call it self-expresion or just self-indulgent, there's no denying the disquieting, invigorating impact of this kind of outsider art. It's the work of Jake Hardy, who, closeted in his Saskatoon home studio, churns out rampant, anarchic, hard-panned, distorted, skittering electronic mayhem, cramming his compositions with the raging abandoned fragments of a million hard disc edits, and imbuing them with the kind of restless mutant life that you'd normally encounter at the wrong end of a nuclear apocalypse."

NUTHRE is Jeff Morton, a graduate student in music composition in
Victoria, BC, Canada. He has produced and performed original
experimental electronic music throughout Canada, ranging from
abstract explorations of pop music and Saskatchewan field
recordings, to embarrassingly catchy, melodically-effusive
metro-dork-outs; and many other rhythmically challenging remix
projects. He has produced original music and performed live
for dance companies, civic carnivals, private parties, art
openings, and other experimental music events. sound clips and
