DJ Orkidea is about to release his new mixed album "A Place Called Happiness" 16.11.2005 through Universal record company. The album will contain some of Orkidea's own yet unreleased productions together with a pile of rare remixes - the album also includes tracks from artists like Slusnik Luna, Dallas Superstars, DJ Tiesto and Way Out West. Orkidea will also release a chillout-album "Music Speaks In Thousand Languages" which includes only his own productions, it will be released in the internet 30.11.2005 but there will also be a very limited CD-version available. This ClubZone is a album release party where Orkidea plays whole night and there will be a chance to buy his new album and perhaps some other Orkidea-stuff also! Come and spend the best independence-day-party ever with Orkidea & ClubZone crew! There will be happy-hour prices for drinks whole evening so there is really no excuse for missing out. See you there!
ORKIDEA BIO:
Despite his relatively young age, DJ Orkidea has been one of Scandinavias top DJs for over 10 years and has been voted Scandinavias Best DJ in danish Megaminds voting and elected four times (2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004) as Best DJ in Finnish Club Awards.
He is Renaissance Worldwide Helsinki resident and has played all around the world in Berlin (Tresor, WMF), Ibiza (Pacha), Denmark (Roskilde Festival), Tokyo (CODE), Toronto (Wintergalactic), Frankfurt (Nature One Festival), Amsterdam (Panama). At these events Orkidea has played with Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Sven Väth, Jose Padilla and The Prodigy just to name a few.
In 1999 Orkidea released Unity 12 single on Steelfish Records UK. It was played by all the big names including Pete Tong and John Digweed and was played by both Sasha and Paul Oakenfold as opening track for their Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1. Orkideas new single Melancholy was released on DJ Tiestos Black Hole Recordings.
Orkidea has made remixes for legendary dance labels like Nettwerk (DJ Tiesto: Flight 643), Vandit (Aalto: Rush) and Hooj Choons (Space Manoeuvres: Stage One) and remixed mainstream artists such as The Doors and Bomfunk MCs. His work has been included on Renaissance, Gatecrasher and Ministry of Sound CD compilations. He released his debut solo album on Universal Music in 2003 and reached the finnish national Top 20 charts with Melancholy. Most recently he has had released two bootleg-vinyls that include his remix of 'Opus III's Fine Day' and his own production called 'Requiem'. He also has recently worked together with Super8 and Dallas Superstars in tracks called 'Embrace' and 'Revolution' respectively. His most recent achievement was a wonderful remix of Way Out West's 'Killa', it was the tune of the week in Armin Van Buuren's ASOT-radioshow in summer 2005. Surely we are talking about a busy and talented man here.
Orkidea also runs his own Unity Records with artists like Slusnik Luna, Beatpusher and Dallas Superstars and he has had his own monthly show in Finnish YleX/Radio Mafia since 1998. He has also written and produced score music for three films and various TV-ads. Orkideas DJ sets are a mix of progressive house and trance, spiced with some breaks and techno, never lacking energy but always keeping the quality high. His six hour sets are the best thing you can find in this country. His incredible ability to progress his set smoothly towards the end is absolutely unforgettable. Early arrival is recommended to achieve the 'Orkidea' feeling.
