Ignas iv BIOGRAPHY:

Ignas i.v. (born Ignas Vanagas) is by far the most renowned Lithuanian DJ and probably the most important person of the local club scene.

Emerged in the late 90s as an enthusiastic Kaunas artist, he’s worked hard and pushed the boundaries to his own terms with such a passion that in 2003 he was awarded the “DJ of the Year” at “Bravo 2003” (Lithuanian answer to Brit Awards). Thanks to his residence in Kaunas’ club “Exit”, the club was voted “Lithuania’s Club of the Year” for 2 consecutive years.

By now his name ensures that any club is packed, and his talent bears a satisfaction guarantee.

June this year was extremely busy for the artist as he played before THE PRODIGY gig in Vilnius as well as released a mix compilation “Atari Original” produced in 50.000 copies. “Atari Original” nights, resided by Ignas i.v., which served as an inspiration for the album, rule the local dancing scene attracting the biggest audiences each and every time. As a consequence the album vanished like a charm being distributed as a cover CD with COSMOPOLITAN and FHM magazines in Lithuania.

Ignas i.v. projects are so out of the box and versatile that featured in the special BBC documentary show and pages of the DJ MAG. International interest it roused is turning into a world domination plan – last month he paid a visit to London in order to see “Atari Original” nights prospects there. His special service of progressive house, tribal, tech-house generates an aura of self explanatory excitement and enthusiasm among the Lithuanian dance music fans.

His popularity as both a DJ and a person seems to have no limits, but his efforts transcend dj'ing alone, he is also a producer and promoter. His personal involvement helped in bringing DEEP DISH, Satoshi Tomiie, James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa, John Creamer & Stephane K, Omid 16B, G Pal & Anna Maria X, Barry Gilbey, PEACE DIVISION, LEXICON AVENUE and many more top class artists to perform in this Baltic country.

Last year, he debuted as a producer providing a breathtaking version of Omid 16B’s track "Escape (Driving To Heaven)". For almost a year this Ignas Main Mix was spinned in clubs only, but as of July, 2005 radio edit version hit the air. During first two weeks of July it reached #1 position at Lithuanian dance music radio POWER HIT RADIO top15.
