RONY REX
As a self-described unicorn breeder and club counselor, Rony Rex has come up the old school way by proving himself to be a vital DJ talent, headlining major festivals and clubs in his native country Finland before even producing a tune. Now established around the world as a selector with great musical knowledge, through his residency on Finland’s YleX Radio, as well as a dexterous DJ with skills that find him building musical journeys at his Lasermehu and Talli nights, he holds a notable voice in the dance music space.
Since kicking off the production side of things in 2017 with 'Sticky Fingers', Rony has built his signature sound with elements of house, glitchy synths, big drums and catchy vocals. In 2019 he released his biggest yet, 'Milk It' with Carla Monroe, landing him a first play on Radio 1 by Diplo, a selection by Stella McCartney to soundtrack her catwalk at Paris Fashion Week and major syncs such as O2 and Nickelodeon, resulting in a spot at the Billboard Dance charts. Kicking things off for the new decade, Rony has since made his debut on Kitsuné Musique with ‘Drip’, soundtracked a new commercial for Yves Saint Laurent and collaborated with the one and only GFOTY of PC Music on ‘Mile High’.
With humble beginnings throwing parties in his parents’ house (and getting busted for doing so), Rony Rex has been an extrovert on the decks since day zero. He glides through genres with a focus on groove, technique and joy. Consider Rony Rex’s performance somewhat of an extreme sport — the prominent live stream series he hosts in partnership with Red Bull is being broadcast from locations such as a shark tank, a warship and on a plane. Combining his efforts as Finland’s Pioneer DJ ambassador, a radio host, an on-demand producer and a force in the booth, Rony Rex is here to bring you the heat and make you smile through it all.
ORION
Starting in the early nineties from the warehouse raves of the industrial city of Tampere, stirring the Northern Finland electronic music scene for over five years, settling down in Helsinki in 2006 and living in Berlin 2011-2013, Orion is still one of the busiest and most relevant DJs in Finland.
Probably the most well known of his decade-long work on Finnish National Radio YleX, Orion hosts channel’s three hour Friday night every week. Next to his work as a DJ and event producer, Orion also runs his own Absence of Facts label.
No matter if it’s about performing live at a sold-out festival or a warehouse party, expanding the possibilities of DJing with the latest technological innovations, hosting an electronic music conference, playing at Ministry of Sound in London or clubs in USA, Germany, Greenland, Russia, Spain etc, headlining New Year’s party for 85000 people, 2000 people pool party or hosting live radio broadcasts from Berlin, after over 20 years in the business it’s all still happening and it’s all labour of love.
