Bio:
Yoko is a veteran to the scene, DJing since 1999 and this half German/half Japanese guy from Hamburg (Germany) started with buying vinyl of the fast Oldschool Hard-Trance & Rave tunes that he was already addicted to since 1994. To this day he’s still in love with the retro sound – played multiple radioshows on Digitally Imported Radio, was a resident DJ at the oldschool-focused webradio, “RevivalKult“ for all of its 5-year broadcast time and nowadays doing regular live video streams where he still mixes the sound of the 90s, still from the original vinyl of course!
His second love is the sound of Drum&Bass in all its varieties, because as he says it brings „the same diversity, energy and fast tempo as the oldschool sound“ which he grew up with. He played many sets at events close to his home, and was also a resident DJ at the worldwide acclaimed DnBRadio.com with his own radioshow.
Yoko was most fortunate to have been able to play in other countries besides his home as well: Denmark, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, UK ... and it always makes him happy to see other people enjoy his DJ sets as much as he does playing them. He likes to go crazy behind the decks to just let go of all the things of the daily life routine – and when people respond to that with nothing but positive energy it’s the best reward for him as a DJ that he can imagine. In his words: There's no more "me" & "them" ... there's just "us"!
He also likes to spend time working with synthesizers, drum machines and effects in his own studio, to work towards more of his own creations in both Oldschool 90s and Drum&Bass styles.
