Around in the scene since the turn of the millennium, LSB has gone from strength to strength since his first productions surfaced on DJ Zinc’s pioneering record label Bingo Beats and Deep Soul Music in 2007-08. After releases on several major labels (Spearhead, Integral, Shogun Audio) LSB featured on the DRS album ‘Mid Mic Crisis’ with the stand-out track ‘The View’ in 2015. That track cemented LSB’s reputation as a master of liquid d&b and many of you probably have fond memories of raving to it on dancefloors around the world.
Now producing for Soul:r which is one of the most respected labels in the scene as well as founding his own label footnotes in 2018, it is onwards and upwards for LSB. It has been five years since he last played in Helsinki and we are hyped to bring LSB back to play a 2 hour set at our fifth event this June.

LSB (FOOTNOTES, SOUL:R, SPEARHEAD)
LSB’s first forays into Drum & Bass came in the early 2000’s as the co-promoter of the hugely successful ‘Bounce’ nights in Norwich. Cutting his teeth behind the decks as one of the resident DJ’s, he had already turned his hand to production by the time the team behind Bounce called it a day in 2007. His first productions surfaced on the now defunct imprints Bingo Beats (run by the legendary DJ Zinc) & Deep Soul Music in 2007-08. After a small hiatus spent honing his craft, he returned with fresh music in 2011 and his stock has been rising ever since.
‘All Of My Love’ / ‘Rolling Sideways’, released on BCee’s Spearhead Records, was the first of this new wave of productions and exhibited his new prowess in the studio and a more expressive, melodic sound that quickly became his trademark. Further releases on Spearhead quickly followed in the shape of the ‘Overthinking EP’, ‘The Hurting’ and more, as well as making a choice appearance on Artificial Intelligence’s Integral label with the hugely popular ‘Rotary Motion’ / ‘Serendipity’ 12” in collaboration with Technicolour & Komatic (now Technimatic of Shogun Audio).
By now, his blend of soulful musicality with dancefloor weight had won him a myriad of fans across the globe. Gigging across the UK and Europe to captivated audiences in 2014, he still found the time to remix ‘Serendipity’ for Integral, drop ‘XLRS’ on Shogun Audio as part of their 10 year compilation album as well as feature on Tokyo Prose’s hugely popular ‘Presence’ LP. A remix of London Elektricity’s ‘Vapour Trails’ followed as part of the Hospitality 2015 album before he featured on the sophomore DRS album ‘Mid Mic Crisis’.
‘The View’ was the stand-out track from a stand-out album, with his delicate instrumentation & arrangement perfectly complimenting Tyler Daley’s haunting vocals and DRS’ insightful lyricism. Having already impressed Soul:r boss Marcus Intalex with his music, a solo EP for the label came in the shape of volume 3 of the popular ‘Four:Fit’ series. The EP’s 4 tracks found their way into the sets of countless A-List Dj’s and showed a diversity in style, approach and a confidence gained from the ease with which his music fitted into the discography of one of the most respected labels in D&B.
Now working on follow up projects for Soul:r, producing remixes for some of the biggest labels in bass music, in addition to playing an ever expanding number of DJ dates across the world, the man simply known as Beavon to his friends is assured of his status as one of the brightest up & coming talents in Drum & Bass.

ASKEL & ELERE (FOKUZ, SOULVENT, MIDNIGHT SUN)
Juho Kavasto aka Askel is a Tampere-based producer, DJ, and an advocate for wide kicks. Askel often draws inspiration from 90’s drum n bass as well as genres outside of electronic music. His atmospheric tunes have netted him releases on labels such as Fokuz, Midnight Sun, Soulvent and Terra Firma with DJ support from the likes of René LaVice (BBC Radio 1), Random Movement, Pola & Bryson, Arkaik, Physics and more.
His roots being in Gambia and Finland, the music Elere makes tends to have quite fast breakbeats and rumbling basses. In other words, his work with drum and bass is an ongoing project and will continue towards the future. A lot of the music he comes up with is done with Askel, his long-time friend and accomplice in the scene. Alongside releases on Soulvent Records and Midnight Sun Records, he has enjoyed support from acts such as Pola & Bryson, Physics, Zero T, Random Movement and more.

WISPY (ETKOPLASMA, STANDARD HKI)
Ville Penttinen: aka Wispy, has been a notable part of the Finnish Drum & Bass scene for over a decade. Nowadays he lives in Helsinki, Finland and he runs a radio show called Etkoplasma at Basso and also monthly club nights in Tampere and Helsinki with guys like L.A.O.S. and Rico Tubbs.
Wispy began spinning records back in 2002 pushing the more House and Trance beats. However, he established his roots quickly after Drum & Bass captivated this young talent. For Wispy, there was no turning back. Over the following years his technical skills soared and proof was awarded by winning the 2006 Drum & Bass DJ competition arranged by the Tampere based organisation '33100'. With 2006 being a successful year, 2007 brought even more! Wispy worked his way to become a winner in Helsinki's now annual 'Laserpoint 2008 DJ Competition' (The biggest dj competition in Finland). In the year of 2011 Wispy was the first guest ever at the YleX XmiX show (Essential mix of Finland) and since that he has done a new guest mix to the show every year.
These days Wispy’s D&B tastes revolve around uplifting, groovy and rolling dancefloor killers with Jazz influences and big basslines. This DJ seems to always come equipped with a tastefully packed record bag... always finding a solution to play for any kind of occasion. His aim is clearly to bring good vibes to any dancefloor and build up an atmosphere to raise the roof!

The man with surprises in every sleeve. His selections cover the most interesting atmospheric and deep dnb rollers as well as the cheesiest summer liquid tunes. Born and raised in London, Uel came to be through the sounds of the U.K. drum & bass culture. The tones of artists like Chase & Status and High Contrast shaping the sounds of his teenage years. After moving to Helsinki in 2016, Uel absorbed the tranquility of the nation, developing a passion for deep, rolling liquid: liquid that expresses emotion, entwined with a soulful bass-line that can kick-start a musical journey. Revolving around the sounds of masters such as Calibre, SpectraSoul, GLXY and Keeno, Uel will ignite the stage for the evening, sharing his passion with the crowd for all to hear.

Our host for the evening will be the amazing and talented Alexx. She is truly like no other MC - probably because she's not a traditional MC. Alexx is known for letting the music do the talking and improvises to the vibe of the DJ and the crowd, almost like a jazz vocalist would.
Alexx was discovered by Jayem from L.A.O.S back in 2007 and they started co-writing and releasing music together. They went on to produce tracks such as Healing for L.A.O.S' album Finally on Bass=Win, and other releases on TechniqueRecordings and Viper, to name a few. Her most known work was “Fire on Water” which has reached almost 1 million views on the UKF YouTube channel >>

If you came down to our last night with Makoto, you likely remember the awesome visuals there. Now, trsctr is returning to the VJ booth with a renewed set for this particular night.
Trsctr might be better known for his producer alias Trisector or Out Of Fuel, but for a while now, he's also been voyaging into the world of VJ'ing. Combining glitch art, data moshing and other techniques such as VHS+CRT looping for that sweet analogue warmth, he's creating his own style of video art. We can't wait to see what he has up in his sleeve this time!
