HUGH HARDIE (UK - HOSPITAL)

Since signing exclusively to Hospital Records in early 2015, Cambridge-raised and Bristol-based Hugh Hardie has been catching the attention of many. From his featured hit ‘Tearing Me Apart‘ on Hospital‘s celebratory ‘We Are 18’ compilation to ‘Kyoto City’ on the Hospital Summer Mixtape and the beautiful ‘Wide Eyes’ on the huge Hospitality 2015 compilation, Hugh has continued to go from strength to strength. His collaboration with Logistics on the ‘Polyphony’ LP was announced as the ‘People’s Choice Tune of the Year’ on London Elektricity’s award-winning podcast and has continued ever since to do damage on club systems around the world. 2016 saw the release of Hugh’s long awaited and highly anticipated debut EP on Hospital, the ‘City Soul EP’ and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

2017 brings us Hugh Hardie’s highly anticipated debut LP, Colourspace, an album filled with liquid rollers, jazzy riffs, and feel-good flavours.

Hugh’s smooth sounds are inspired by an eclectic mix of styles, from the rollers of Hospital mainstays High Contrast, Nu:Tone and Logistics, all the way to neo-soul and R&B artists Eryka Badu and Musiq Soulchild, as well as the deep pads and old-school stabs of house and garage. Having perfected the art of the liquid roller with his soulful production Hugh has rightly earned support from some of the scene’s major players as well as securing spots on some of the most exciting line-ups around Europe.

For several years Hugh has been making regular appearances across Europe and the UK for the world-renowned events brand Hospitality and is no stranger to lighting up packed dance-floors no matter the venue size. Always drawing for a set that simultaneously soothes the soul and gets the crowds moving, Hugh is undoubtedly a firm favourite for any fan of the liquid roller.

TRISECTOR (MED SCHOOL, DSCI4, SCIENCE HKI, BASSO)

Trisector aka Otto Andelin got bit by the drum'n'bass bug back in the late 90's. Around the same time the first computer arrived to his home, and of course he had to get Fast Tracker music software and some samples.

His first vinyl releases were in 2004 as part of the breakbeat/dubstep duo Takomo, but in 2008 Otto shifted his focus back to drum'n'bass and wrote tracks like Lifeforms and Morning Rain which were later picked up by the Hospital Records sister label Med School Music. These and other tracks have received dj support from the likes of London Elektricity, High Contrast, Blu Mar Ten, Chris.SU, Quadrant, Survival and Reso.

Besides making beats in the studio, Trisector also hosts a monthly radio show on Bassoradio as part of the Science Hki collective. After releasing his latest EP "Escapism", which came out last year on the legendary label DSCI4, Trisector has been more or less on hiatus as Otto has been focusing on his new project Out Of Fuel crafting deep and experimental drum'n'bass with DJ Matic.

Trisector's set at Liquid Helsinki is a rare occasion, so he promises to deliver some atmospheric liquid rollers with a bit of jungle breakbeat action and maybe some gritty basslines too.
