CLUB UNITY
Club Unity is the longest running club night in Helsinki. The club is ran by a group of friends who share passion for music and having a good time. The clubs reputation is very much built around DJ Orkidea and his famous six-hour DJ sets. Unity started back in October 1996 as a monthly night at the legendary Club Nylon. After six years and several different venues Unity is still one of the most respected clubs in Finland. The music at Unity has always been mainly trance and progressive house with breakbeat, techno and house tracks dropped in every now and then. Unity goes to great lengths to make sure the visual aspects of their club nights match the mood of the music and the attention and effort put into lights and decorations have been second to none. The main idea behind Unity is to bring together the older and younger open-minded people and offer them a great night out in great surroundings and a possibility to dance and celebrate in the name of music and unity.
ORKIDEA
Despite his young age of 25, DJ Orkidea has been one of Finland's and Scandinavia's leading trance and progressive DJs for almost ten years. He has been on the trance tip for quite a long time but he likes to spice up his sets with housey sounds, breaks, acid, electro or whatever sounds good.
Orkidea's background lies in illegal after parties back in 1992 when he was 15. Then he started to arrange his own after hours clubs such as Moon and Earth and Heaven during years 1993-1995. For larger audiences DJ Orkidea became known from big Finnish raves and huge illegal after hours parties in Helsinki. Orkidea has played practically every city, club and major electronic music event in Finland with a pace of over 100 gigs a year. During the last few years the number of Orkidea's foreign gigs has been on a rapid rise.
SLUSNIK LUNA
The men behind Slusnik Luna are producers Niko Nyman and Nicklas (Nicke) Renqvist. Their biggest hit so far is the huge trance anthem "Sun" that was released on Incentive Records in the U.K. and featured remixes by Ambassador. "Sun" got huge support from big name DJ's such as Radio One's Judge Jules, Dangerous Dave and Pete Tong. The track was later picked up by both Cream and Ministry Of Sound for their flagship compilations.
