Steve Thomas, just a resident at FEERSUM and Trade right? Wrong... The guy is one of the most successful and hardworking people in the business. Best known for his DJing, and as one of the pioneers responsible for making Hard House one of the most popular styles of club music in the UK today, he also takes in running Tripoli Trax, which is now probably the best known hard house label in the UK.
Steve's reputation has spread rapidly since the early Trade residency days and has resulted in major gigs throughout the UK and Worldwide. These gigs included Cream, Sundissential, Vague, Ministry Of Sound, Bugjam (in front of 10,000 people), weekly residency at DTPM and many many more Worldwide he has been resident for Trade in Ibiza(Privilege, El Divino & Space), a Japanese tour which saw clubbers crying with delight when they met him (!), a US tour, a tour of South Africa, and much of Europe was given the Steve Thomas treatment alongside these gigs!
One of Steve's highlights was a residency alongside Danny Tenaglia at Twilo in NY! He is the only person EVER to play a two hour prime slot in the middle of Tenaglias marathon set, not once but every time he played there.
Steves musical style is based around hard house, naturally knowing what records to play anywhere across the globe. Technically, Steve has a very unique style in that when he is in the mix, he never touches the vinyl to speed up or slow down the track. Why? As Steve puts it if it wont sit properly in the mix, its not accurate enough. He is a complete perfectionist.
Steve Thomas has produced an endless list of tracks under his own name, as well as under disguises such as The Experts, Fruitloop and N.O.K. all these records ripping up the dancefloor at hard house clubs worldwide. He has also remixed hundreds of other tracks including two which charted in the UK Top 10, and has compiled and mixed two of Trade's mix albums and The Best of Tripoli Trax selling a combined 95,000 PLUS copies!
And lastly but by no means least Steve has been voted DJ of the month for Muzik Magazine, is always voted in the Top 100 world-wide DJ's by DJ magazine, and in October 2000 was ranked eighth best DJ in the world by Muzik Magazine!
