Helsinki Dub Club has a solid focus on the sound systems themselves, providing dub music from dubplate to upright steppa for the massive! For this first session in this new venue, we are arranging a sound system meeting with two of Finland's most active and prominent sound systems. The roaring lions from the south of Finland; Ivah Sound System meets Salamari Sound System; sound of rhythm & power from Häämenlinna. So there will be two custom built, heavyweight sound systems in the arena, playing in turns all night long in sound system style and fashion!
Ivah Sound is one of Finland’s most forward thinking sound systems; playing the best of Roots, Dub and Bass Music on their own custom built sound. The Ivah Sound System is specially designed for the music they love. Bass heavy with a punchy kick, crisp mids & highs. This crew of seven always gives their utmost to give the massive an enlightened experience; with microphone chanting, effects and skilled mixing. Ivah Sound is always all about upliftment and bringing cultures together under their mighty stack of speakers.
Salamari Sound System stands for the powerful message in rhythm and sound. Salamari sound was founded by Joona Venäläinen in 2012 in hämeenlinna, Finland. Back in 2012 there were no sound systems in town and the selectors near by desperately wanted to put up sessions and listen to some good tunes through a proper sound system.
Building of the sound has been done by one man with help from his father and friends, and expectedly it took time for the system to grow up in it's present power. Nowadays Salamari sound system serves multiple events and sessions delivering the vibration, the power of the music; from soul to soul and from speakers to body.
