At the third edition of FRWRD we are proud to have one of the most influential figures of dub & stepper music and the labelhead of Steppas Records, Alpha Steppa. We are also really excited to have a b2b session from a domestic producer duo who just released a new EP and are making big waves in the bass music scene at the moment, LAS & Mikael.
Ivah Sound will provide support for this unforgettably bassheavy session.
Alpha Steppa (UK)
The son and nephew of respected dub heavyweights Alpha & Omega, Alpha Steppa has been surrounded by soundsystem and dubplate culture from a young age. Now a talented producer in his own right, his productions connect the dots between the music which he has grown up around and the new generation of UK bass music of which he is a part. His dubbed out style draws upon the sounds of his musical heritage, filtered through an exploration of the newer sounds of dubstep. As the owner off Steppas Records he has influenced the sound system scene with his own productions as well as many quality releases by such artists as JahYu, Dub Dynasty, Radikal Guru, Dj Madd, Adam Prescott, RSD, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Dub Judah, Gregory Isaacs and Lutan Fyah, just to name a few.

LAS & Mikael
LAS & Mikael, hailing out of Helsinki, are new generation producers in the experimental field of electronic music in Finland. Although their music is electronic, organic and acoustic soundscapes and lively rhytms are a big part of their sound. The biggest common nomitor for their music is dubstep, which they both think more of as a guiding way, not a definitive genre. LAS & Mikael are known for their suave b2b sets, where they combine their own music with new vibrations from abroad. Expect a diverse set loaded with bass, rhythm and echoes from rootical reggae and steppas.

Ivah Sound System (Helsinki, Finland)
Ivah Sound is a sound system and DJ collective formed in Helsinki during early 2010. The collective consists of six members, MC’s and DJ’s. United by a common passion for heavy bass music, with styles ranging all the way from roots reggae to steppers, jungle and drum & bass.
Their music is delivered by a mighty self-built sound system, constantly evolving as the team creates new additions to their arsenal of speakers.
