Defence is the monthly Drum & Bass club at mbar. This time around we have the sensational dj + vj set from Oscar X Sellekhanks. A teaser of the dynamic duo's set first surfaced on vimeo and was immediately met with enthusiasm throughout the domestic Drum & Bass scene. Banging beats and big bass combined with extraordinary visuals take the journey to a whole new level.
Oscar
Oscar's Drum & Bass roots date back to the early years of '96/'97 and he's been actively DJing for some years now. With constantly absorbing influences over a time period of almost 15 years, Oscar is able to deliver just the right sounds to the venue at hand. In a club environment you might catch him spinning tunes ranging from the smoothest liquid vibes to the baddest dancefloor tearouts. Not content with representing just Drum & Bass, Oscar's skills on the turntables allow him to juggle between genres and styles in different tempos with ease.
The past few months have been really busy time for Oscar. Been Touring around Finland and hosting numerous radio shows for quite some time now, Oscar's now concentrating more on his own productions. Duo project called Detuned has already caught international interest with some seriously credible dancefloor bangers. Oscar's record bag is stuffed with latest dubs from the domestic Drum & Bass talents, as well as all the top tunes from the global producers, so you're certain sure to witness a gig like no other.

Sellekhanks originally started in 2008 as a duo project, but is now mainly run by the multimedia ninja Tommi Mustaniemi. In addition to various graphic design and new media works, Sellekhanks has produced vj mixes and music videos for multiple finnish artists.
Fame and recognition has come regularly as Sellekhanks won the Getty Images Mishmash Video/Music/Remix competition in 2010, got shortlisted in 2011 and became the regional winner in 2012. In addition to producing top notch video remixes Sellekhanks has done vjing work for some huge clubs like Round in Lahti, Hump Day in Helsinki and the Renegade Electrostage at Provinssirock in 2012 to mention a few. Currently Sellekhanks is working closely and touring with some top finnish acts like Renegade, Euro Crack, Evil Stöö and Oscar.
Sellekhanks is known for glitch-esque visual experimentation with a strong lean on ghetto aesthetics. When mixing live, Sellekhanks is able to create layered worlds by utilizing multiple feeds and seamlessly blend them to transform the current physical environment to a whole new state of consciousness to enhance the whole audio-visual experience.
