As Judge Jules has said on his Radio 1 show (BBC) on 18th October 2003 when he chose one of my first tunes for Tried and Tested : “Finland is not well known for great music records but it is known for Santa Claus and Lapland, which is a bit ironic because this man who has hosted me well in Finland, when I have played there, is originally from Lapland himself.” What comes to the club music scene in Lapland, it is light years away from the scene in Helsinki. and to be in the situation I find myself today as a dj I am as amazed as anyone that I have come this far. I got my first gig abroad in 1992 and since then I have played in several countries. During the last seasons(1995-2010) I have played in Ibiza, performing well over 200 gigs at leading venues: Amnesia, Eden, Es Paradis Terrenal, Pacha, Privilege and Space.
The summer seasons 2005-2007 in Ibiza I played exclusively only on Judge Jules great Judgement Sunday events but the year 2008 was the biggest year for me so far in the “History of Ibiza” when the world’s most famous DJ Tiësto asked me to play opening up set for him at the world largest nightclub called Privilege for over 10 000 clubbers!! The largest audience so far has been on a summer 2006 when I played on a Loveparade in Berlin, Germany. It was unbelievable experience to play and see near 1,3 million club- bers dancing around our float.. At the moment I’m a resident Dj at Club Colors, which is my own event, and is held regularly in Finland with guest Djs from abroad. At Club Colors’s parties during the last 10 years I have had guest Djs like:Chicane, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Above&Beyound, Ferry Corsten, David Guetta, Erick Morillo, Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Richard Durand, John Digweed, Cosmic Gate, Tall Paul, Matt Darey, Solarstone, Lange, Hernan Cattaneo, Stonebridge and Agnelli & Nelson etc.. I also have had residency at Ministry Of Sound and Gods Kitchen events in Helsinki. In addition to playing at those club events I also promote them. When I Djing, my musical style varies from house to trance...
I have made tunes previous years under the Modulation name and just now my first tune under my own Alex Kunnari name came out on December 2007 and was called ‘Lifter’. Lifter has went better than expected after being hammered by by Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, PvD, Judge Jules and many many more! Also it’s good to mention that Lifter was on The Tried n’ Tested on 15.9.2007 and played for 8 weeks by Judge Jules at BBC radio1, featured in “Tiësto’s Club Life”, “Armin van Buuren A State Of Trance” and “ Paul van Dyk Vonyc Sessions”!My first tune under my own name called “Lifter” was just the beginning for how well the tunes released since after “Lifter” have had success throughout the world. All Alex Kunnari the tunes are published on the world’s most famous DJ Tiësto label called Black Hole Record- ings. Own tunes success opens few doors and I got an incredible opportunity to remix few bigger than life tunes which became hits world-wide e.g. Tiësto "Elements of Life", Tiësto feat. Gary Brothers "Here on Earth", Paul van Dyk "Let Go", MR Sam "Cygnes", Super8 & Tab "Mercy"and not yet released new remixes for Paul Oakenfold "Southern Sun", Chicane "Thousand Mile Stare" and George Acosta ft. Tiff Lacey!
Like I wrote before I have done previous tunes under the Modulation name and those ones has gone better than well like the tune called “Darkstar” in the UK cool cuts chart the tune peaked number 11 in the winter 2002. All the major djs around Europe have played ‘Darkstar’ and the audience’s reaction was very good. DJ magazine rated ‘Darkstar’ as a 5/5 star tune and Muzik magazine gave 4/5 stars. Modula- tion ‘Spirits’ tune was Judge Jules’s Tried and Tested tune on 18th of October 2003! Judge Jules played my ‘Spirits’ tune on his BBC 1 radio shows for five weeks. Mixmag gave 4/5 stars to ‘Spirits’. Spirits’ was also heavily played by Paul van Dyk, DJ Tiësto, Johan Gielen, Armin van Buuren, Darude, Matt Hardwick, Ferry Corsten etc. ‘Spirits’ was out on Paul van Dyk’s Vandit label in the GAS area and on Ferry Corsten’s Tsu- nami label in the rest of the world. All tunes under my own name allow me the way to bring the music which I love from my heart to all to you clubbers...
I live in a small country which you never simple associate with which mean’s that the music is universal thing and from our little country great trance sound is coming out... See you soon...
