Jungle is massive! Defence august is all about roots, dub and jungle influenced breakbeat-esque music. Rediscover the vibes of beats and bass of the past. To deliver the goods we have the bad men Rumbus, Luna Chill and Saint as our guests. Note that this event is at friday and will run from 7pm with warmup sets of varying styles to all the way to 4am.

Igor "Rumbus" Rombonen has been on the jungle tip since 1997 because his father brought him records from abroad. Soon after Rumbus started arranging small events in his home town Petrozavodsk and played his first gig in a club called Diskosad. Rumbus moved to Finland in 1998 but has steadily been visiting his former home town to stay in touch with the local club scene and throw gigs whenever possible. In addition to djing in Petrozavodsk, Rumbus has played in Sortavala, Kostomuksha and Saint Petersburg at clubs called Friday, Second Floor and Griboedov. Rumbus has also been featured in huge festivals like Medgorave in Petrozavodsk and "Global Drum n' Bass" in Kronstadt.
In Finland you might have seen Rumbus dj in cities like Joensuu, Outokumpu, Savonlinna, Jyväskylä, Tampere and Helsinki alongside artists like Clipz and Danny Byrd. At the moment, Espoo-based Rumbus is into ragga & jungle music but also has a keen interest in dubstep and minimal techno.

Luna tried his first time mixing and scratching vinyls on Harju's youth house at early 2009 with the guidance of Dj Flava. Even he had trained with hip-hop instrumentals, dubstep influenced music was the calling for him. After almost 2 years of learning the art he got his first club sets via dj competitions and after that he has been slowly getting more and more support on Helsinki´s underground and club scene.
When Luna plays his sets, he goes into his own world trying to transfer the vibes trough music that make people at the same time into uplifting but deeper state of mind.

Introducing Saint, an upcoming talent to keep an eye on. The passion to play music he loves to a crowd first ignited simply from hearing tunes like 'King Of The Beats' by Aphrodite and 'Tough At The Top' by E-Z Rollers. These were featured on a soundtrack of a late 90's PSX game called Rollcage. From that moment on the idea of being a DJ started growing until the year 2005 when he got his first pair of turntables and a DJ-mixer. The idea materialized and it became apparent to him that there is no return. After few years of practicing and some gigs in his back pocket already, he is anxiously waiting to see what the future holds for him.
