Kalle Karvanen, a DJ, promoter and a record label manager, freaked out to electronic dance music in the mid 90's, started making own tracks and collecting vintage analogue gear in 1997, then deejaying in 1998.
In playing records Kalle isn't stuck to one particular genre. He plays electro, techno, italo, acid and acid house tracks, not forgetting his past in hiphop and big beat. His mixing style is tight and mindblowing and this also got him to a situation where he was the first finnish who participated to Red Bull Music Academy, which was held in New York in 2001 (sadly during the WTC terrorist attack).
Kalle is also a part of a liveact called Technical Directors, which idea is to play 110% live sets with vintage gear and create every sound in front of the live audience, mostly with legendary Roland x0x-series drum machines and synthesizers. Other liveact he is participating is Acid Symphony Orchestra which brings ten synced up Roland TB-303's + one drum machine on stage. Besides of this all Kalle is also producing his own music, which is an ever-lasting construction site...
Maria got hooked on electronic music when she went to the Netherlands as an exchange student about five years ago. Fascinated by the sound of italo, disco, electro and acid she made her first visit to the Clone record store in Rotterdam.
After about a year concentrating on her studies in Finland, accompanied by listening to the now late CBS internet radio, she moved to the Netherlands and soon paid a visit to a nearby record store in her new home town the Hague. It didn't remain her only visit and from there on she started buying records more and more often.
In the spring of 2007, having played at home for about six months, she recorded her first demo. Soon after this, she got her first gig and played in public for the first time at the Konemetsä Festival 2007.
From there on, more or less often, she has been playing at parties and festivals in her native Finland and the Netherlands.
What you can expect from Maria's DJ sets is a mixture of (italo)disco, electro, synth pop, wave and acid spiced with bits of techno and house. Most importantly, music that moves her and is sure to move you!
