BIOGRAPHY

2007 was a hugely successful year for Silky from SEMINALGROOVES. After the success of CUBAN BLUES on Soulfuric Deep (No.2 Hype Chart Record) Silky was invited to work closely with The Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles himself to re-edit classic material for the Defmix WMC party, Frankie also asked him to remix one of his biggest tunes of 2007/8 (Marko Militano – Good People) for release on his Chicago based label Noice!Music.

Remixes soon followed from the likes of Marshall Jefferson who asked SEMINALGROOVES to remix the house classics “Taste My Love” (Kym Mazelle) and “Someday” (Ce Ce Rogers) for re-release on his USB imprint. In addition to these, the SEMINALGROOVES touch can also be heard on the upcoming release for the talented Justin Michael – Don’t Hold Back (Hermosa Recordings) featuring the smooth vocal talents of Gina Rene.

In addition to the forthcoming SEMINALGROOVES remixes, Silky’s collaboration with Australia’s Random Soul – “Searchin” is causing quite a stir with the worlds best. With countless more productions in the pipeline, the discography of SEMINALGROOVES is growing rapidly.

First & foremost, being a DJ on the international circuit, 2007 saw Silky being booked at many of the prestigious house music parties around the globe, from UK to Santorini, Budapest to Sydney, and pretty much everywhere in between.

Kick start into 2008. Silky has already played for the Push FM/R2 Records party in Miami for WMC 08, featuring alongside the bill with Karizma, Ron Trent, Robert Owens etc. and has also been asked
personally by the legend Frankie Knuckles to play the headline set for Defmix@ Pacha, Ibiza this summer – the worlds most prestigious nightclub. With dates already confirmed in Marbella,
Santorini, Ibiza, USA, Canada, Asia etc 2008 is looking to be another busy year.

Despite the hectic tour schedule, Silky can be found playing his residency once a month at Londons EGG nightclub for Rhythmatic ( who also host tours with Amnesia, Cavo Paradiso etc.) and at other various established clubs throughout the UK. Also, with a weekly show on London’s Push FM.com, Silky is no stranger to the airwaves and has built up a regular loyal following from all over the globe. Proud of being “ahead of the pack” when it comes to new music, you can be sure of hearing the freshest undergound cuts first hand, plus interviews and guest mixes from some of the worlds finest.

Hearing a typical set from Silky is a musical journey, from the beginning to the end. He likes to call it ‘proper house music’. A genre that merges genres. Not conforming to any rules, Silky embraces all aspects of contemporary underground dance music, from deep to tech, soulful to tribal, all elements can be heard keeping energy on the dancefloor throughout the night!

Recently, Silky has joined forces with Stathis L (legendary resident from Cavo Paradiso) to colloborate under a new giuse producing a sound that merges the genres of deep house and techno.

With countless more productions and remixes in the pipeline, 2008 looks to be another successful year for SEMINALGROOVES.
