N.E.C. head honcho, Kevin Energy is firmly established as a DJ in the top echelon of Hardcore, with bookings the length and breadth of the country and all around the World, with people batting his door down to play at events with his undeniably diverse sound from ravey, party infused tracks to underground, acid fuelled stompers. Long gone are the days of pushing the sounds of Freeform into the Hardcore circuit, now dance floors are lapping it up! Energised, always and musically innovative, there arent many crowd-pleasers in Hardcore that can rock a crowd quite like Kevin Energy but for a man who earned his first big room rave sets before he was old enough to legally attend them it is hardly surprising. His fresh sound and ever enthusiastic mixing style make him a favourite behind the decks as he always delivers service with a smile and with more scratching and rockin, upfront tracks than you can shake a glow stick at!
K-COMPLEX
Nu Energy, United Kingdom
The key engineering force within the trailblazing Nu Energy Collective, K-Complex has contributed more to the Hard Dance scene than most producers over the past five years. Few producers, after all, can claim responsibility for more spellbinding scenes of rushing, big room euphoria. Something that anyone who has witnessed the Nu Energy Collective PA in full 4am effect at venues like Brixton Academy or The Camden Palace will well attest. From Indestructible to soaring Mark Ashley collaboration Atomic Orbital, his many productions have also gained countless licenses to compilations like Wildchild and the legendary Bonkers series whilst the head-twisting Identify The Beat, created with Hardcore legends Sharkey and Marc Smith, remains one of the most mind-blowing, if underrated, Hardcore records of all time. A favourite of the late crusader for musical eccentricity, John Peel, it stands in the unique position as the only Hardcore track ever to appear on a compilation for Londons super club Fabric.
SHARKEY
Kaotik, United Kingdom
Jon Sharkey a.k.a Jon Kneath, is undoubtedly one of the most established names in the Hardcore scene. The legendary, jack of all trades has tried his hand at everything; starting in the early days of rave in 93 as an MC at the Rhythm Station for DJ Druid where he won countless awards for MC of the year, then moving on to production and DJing co-producing Toytown one of the biggest anthems of the era on Essential Platinum and now in moulding the new talent of Hardcore and Freeforms future. The likes of K Complex, AMS and Arkitech to name just a few have evolved through Sharkeys studio and tuition. His focus on guiding the talented bright lights and tirelessly harnessing the raw talent of upcoming production engineers in Hardcore came because he considers it to be one of the most important aspects of his job as without the future generation, there will be no future hardcore!
