Mr.A (Danceteria), Heikki Liimatainen (aka Dallas Superstar)
Mr. A
Mr.A has been tipped as the number one house / prog / tribal DJ in Finland. At 35 years of age, his career spuns now close to 15 years. From the early days of more uplifing and balearic sounds through hard edged techno, the evolution has taught him well.
"I love to take elements from different genres, different sounds and incorporate them to my set. Recently I've been extremely lucky to do these 5-6 hour slots, where building the mood for the night and not wearing out the so-called big tracks beforehand is crucial."
He was voted Dj of the Year in his hometown Helsinki in 2002, and so far has placed twice in top 4 at the annual Finnish Club Awards.
Productionwise he feels like he´s just begun. "I've been working with different producers for the past 5 years, all of them representing all corners of electronic music. It´s been really educational and I´m very excited of whats to come..trying to dissolve all the information and knowledge of producing to the next piece of music, that´s really interesting. The next big thing is to launch our recordlabel "DanceteriA Music, a project we´ve been working on for quite some time now - with 3 releases on the pipeline before the end of year 2006."
You can find Mr.A playing regularly all over Finland, Scandinavia, Baltic and Europe, making guest appearances in radio and various other media. He has played in every major Event and Club in Finland including Koneisto Festival, Ministry Of Sound Tours, Konemetsä Festival and played alongside the world renown superstars such as Sasha, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg, Desyn Masiello, Omid 16b, Tom 'Superchumbo' Stephan, Rob Di Stefano, John Creamer, Smokin Jo, Kings Of Tomorrow and Dave Clarke.
HEIKKI LIIMATAINEN
Dallas Superstars are Finnish club/dance music heavy weights Heikki Liimatainen and Jaakko "JS16" Salovaara who have versatile experience in the music business working as producers, writers and remixers. Jaakko is known for his work as a producer and writer for Bomfunk MC's and Darude. Among others, Heikki has had success with Modulation and Supermodels from Paris, which have been heavily spinned by world's top deejays.
Dallas Superstars released their debut album "Flash" in 2003. Five singles were released from that album and they had really nice attention from BBC Radio 1 DJ´s Pete Tong and Judge Jules.
Dallas Superstars are now back with their second album "Higher State" which will be released internationally in 2006. The first single from the album is an uplifting cover version of "Fine Day"; a dance classic originally released by Opus III. The track "Higher" has already caught the attention of many deejays and for example Paul van Dyk has remixeed it for his own Politics of Dancing -compilation.
The musical style of Dallas Superstars is above all energic club music. The style varies from electro house to trance. "Higher State" contains influences from the 90´s but there are also tracks with a feel of the 80´s and flavours from techno scene.
The aim of Dallas Superstars is to make music that makes people move on the dancefloor. Music that can be played in the super clubs of Ibiza but still has potential for airplay. The guys hope that people go nuts, let go and throw their hands in the air when the DJ starts to play their track.
