Tuomas Salmela, hailing from sunny old Finland, has been working the European dance music underground for quite some time now. You may be familiar with his slammin' releases on 20:20 VISION, MOODMUSIC, POKERFLAT or even the late Chicago giant GUIDANCE. Well, how about his own new label then, PHONOGENIC AUDIO, one of the coolest new labels to come out of Scandinavia.
Phonogenic Audio is the label which is keeping Tuomas busy at the moment. Distributed by Intergroove Germany, Phonogenic Audio is providing the world with fresh sound for the dancefloors, produced with love by the label runner Tuomas and his international circle of trust.
Early 2006 saw Phonogenic's biggest success to date; "Syntine" was a huge track that was charted by the biggest names in the dancemusic spectrum, with the dancefloor damage to match. 2006 was also the year for Phonogenic to return to the UK label 2020 Vision with the well received Midnight Drop EP.
Tuomas has also been collaborating with his long time friend Jori Hulkkonen on a brand new project signed to GET PHYSICAL MUSIC. As DISCEMI they took their groove experteaze and soundscaping professionalism to a next level for the acclaimed "Tango Or Cash EP". And like that wasn't enough, theres some fresh Discemi stuff coming out on the sizzling hot UK imprint REKIDS!
2007 is starting with a bang, with releases lined up on such labels as Moodmusic, Dance Electric, Kickboxer just to name a few and a string of fresh remixes by the man.
