Hird is 21 year old Christoffer Berg from Gothenburg, Sweden. Under this pseudonym he mixes modern electronic rhythms and minimalistic downtempo with the retro sounds of jazz and soul - filtered, looped and cut up grooves, recorded and played by himself and sometimes with guest musicians and sometimes rare samples.
Hird did his debut with the 12" Keep you Hird early 2003. The track Keep you Kimi feat. Yukimi Nagano was an immediate success and got charted on numerous play lists by dj's such as Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge, Rainer Trüby, Alan Brown and Michael Reinboth. The press also loving it with top reviews in Straight no Chaser, Muzik and DJ Magazine.
The upcoming full album to be released in autumn 2004.
After two successful dj-tours in Japan and several gigs around Scandinavia, among others the Roskilde festival last summer, and the Koneisto festival this summer, Christoffer has toured the world with the Nordic Lounge Club Night events. When Hird is performing live he has long time friend Yukimi Nagano, and a full band at his side.
