Kuulostaan välittävälle klubittajalle tällaisen tapahtuman arvo on tasan nolla.

Re: loudness/spl levels
Yes, I remember quite well where a few folks asked me to "turn it up." I remember as I am there to help kept the social wheels oiled and it is important to me that people are as happy as they can be. My focus is always on folks and the music, as it should be.
I keep a spl meter active at all times (sound pressure level) so I know "where I am at" as far as volume. When I was asked to turn it up, I was already 105 dB with occasional peaks at 110. I showed the two people the reading ...when they asked me to turn it up. Hopefully they understood what was happening.
One has to be careful and not to develop ear fatigue as it only works against you and you then have to kept turning it up and up. This leads to distortion in the sound system and ear damage. When setting up a sound system (my approach is very audiophile) and the system is clean and honest then it will in the long run, be more musical. I can show you that at a lower level that I can make the sound appear louder and sharper by misrepresenting the frequency's......but that would be a less musical and a dishonest presentation.
The key is to hear "all" of the music(it is a human right)....all the way down to the nuances in the recordings and to still have your hearing 10-20 years from now. The day that I have to "hurt people" will be my last day doing what I have been doing for years. I decided a long time ago that if there was not a correct and healthy way to raise the life energy thru music then I would probably be happier waiting tables in a restaurant.
I hope you understand where I am coming from.
Regarding doing other parties "in the UK" ... yes I have been asked several times to date but I stay focused on one situation only and do not move around too much. That works for me and keep's all my energies in one place, thereby building long lasting relationships and profound memories.
Take care
d.
